You've been busy! I really miss having stuff to spot, i may have to try a few of the nearby towns for my fix.

And thats not even all of it! I have near enough 30 odd pictures ready to go on flickr, but I cant be bothered at the moment. I tend to go places that I dont usually go, but most of it is Basingstoke. Its funny, when I first joined I saw nothing, now its all come out!
Posted

Well as Ive seen so much lately, I thought Id share the best here, not too many at the moment but heres the highlights:

Posted Image

This tidy van has appeared near me, what a nice thing. Doesnt seem to be used much.

Posted Image

Excellent little Civic, hadnt seen it before and I havent seen it since. Predictably enough, its an Automatic.

Posted Image

What is it with these things and alloy wheels? NO they look terrible.

Posted Image

Minty cab, these are so common around Basingstoke its ridiculous.

Posted Image

Woaaaah! What a beauty.

Posted Image

I loved this, owner also had a massssssssssssssssive pickup.

Posted Image

I bet this guy gets so many enquries about this, happily none have worked.

Posted Image

And this is that pickup. Simply huge, isnt it downright stupid how its only 190 quid a year roadtax but other smaller newer cars are more!

Posted Image

A familiar car to all those local to me, and its a good tattoo parlour.

Posted Image

Clean ghia alloyed Onion, these are alot rarer than their Escort counterparts.

Posted Image

Late E24, still a fantastic looking beast

Posted Image

For VWP!

Posted Image

Superb Stellar spotted in Morrisons! What a perfect piece of shite, how many are left now?

Posted

And this is that pickup. Simply huge, isnt it downright stupid how its only 190 quid a year roadtax but other smaller newer cars are more!

WTF? What's the problem? Shhhh. Behave.Yank stuff is all cheap tax as they don't appear to measure Co2 in Mercania. Dodge Viper? That'll be £200 a year. That Bentley Turbo R I used to drive cost less to tax than a Focus 1.6 Auto. This, to me, is a good thing.
Posted

You really are a legend brammy when it comes to spotting. Do you just walk the streets all day? It would take me years to get the spot quota you've built up!Stellar is ace and I also like the E-reg Swift - I've just read an Autocar road test of an identical one and it got a very favourable write up.

Posted

Haha Pete I was only being pedantic, of course I love the loophole the government made! Id much rather see old powerful (or huge) stuff.Mash, most of this is stuff I just see when in Basingstoke! My route to college goes through 4 car parks, its amazing what shows up. Obviously sometimes I go to other parts of town, Im shocked no ones seen me...yet.

Posted

whao stella indeed  polo seems in good nick to for its age, quite surprising as their built in spain like

Posted

Brilliant spots Brammy, am surprised when I see MK2 Granadas like that. Theres none round my way they've all been bangered, I would love one but would be too shit scared to leave one out in the open.

Posted

There was an F reg Stellar round my way for a number of years. It was a Stellar 'Olympic'. Special edition :?: If so, I assume it was to coincide with the Seoul olympics of 1988.

Well heres the latest, also included are some of the best at wheels day, sorry for not getting these up sooner.

Posted Image

Nice 2000 which Ive never seen before, looked a tad crusty.

Posted Image

OAP-riffic 240, see this one alot. Quite well kept, good to see it survived a certain event.

Posted Image

Barry'd Orion, it has the loudest turbo evar.

Posted Image

Tidy Sierra, a 1.6 GL. POWAR.

Posted Image

Local Scimitar, looks really nice. Weather was bloody awful...

Posted Image

Ridiculously minty Aerodeck, which I think lives in that massive OAP area, Old Basing.

Posted Image

Never seen one of these before, what an ace thing. How many did they sell?

Posted Image

A newcomer in Basingstoke, looks to be in fabulous condition.

Posted Image

No idea what this was doing here, it left shortly after I took this.

More to come, mostly Wheels day....

Posted

Posted Image

One of my faves on show, what a beast.

Posted Image

I bet this sounds fantastic.

Posted Image

Brilliant looking thing, and the alloys suited it.

Posted Image

Not so sure about the clear indicator lenses, but other than that it was pretty nice.

Posted Image

Parked up outside was this lovely. Rather typical colour!

Posted Image

In a few months, owning this will be the same as winning the lottery, no doubt. Lovely one though, nice to see a genuine Mexico.

Posted Image

Typically, there was alot of pickups on show, this one stood out for some reason.

Posted Image

Seeing a bizzarely large amount of these at the moment, seems like theyve become more common.

Posted Image

Loads of lovely yank tanks as well, such as this stunner.

Posted Image

OOOOOOOOOF. Mint!

Posted Image

I thought this looked quite good.

Posted Image

Pimp mobile

More coming....[/img]

Posted

Posted Image

A lovely old thing, one of the nicest cars there.

Posted Image

Beast, sounded like youd expect.

Posted Image

Again, I thought this looked nice.

Posted Image

This was brilliant, looked like it would 20 odd years ago.

Posted Image

Not everyones cup of tea, but probably the best kept example in the UK.

Posted Image

Hideous, but in seriously good nick.

Posted Image

The MKV does seem to be a magnet for godawful alloys.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Gorgeous.

Posted Image

I bet this things are insane to drive.

Posted Image

Ace, I love the styling of these.

Posted Image

More like this please.

Posted Image

Dont think Ive ever heard of this one before, a bizzare name for an American car.

Posted Image

Plate says 24v, so possibly running a Granada lump.....

Posted Image

Thoughts on this? Looked okay, trailer was in seemingly better condition than the actual towing car.

Posted Image

As spotted by Seth a while ago, looks a bit tatty now.

Posted Image

Mint SRI in the car park, nice to see one devoid of rust for once.

Posted Image

Nice to see a Freight Rover as well, I always liked these more than the early MKIII Transits.

And now back to proper spotting:

Posted Image

Tatty 309 in Andover, these are rare beasts now.

Posted Image

Absolutely brilliant Acty, never seen this before. What on earth possessed the owner to paint that on the camper body!

Posted Image

Yet moar MKIVs, most of them have ended up round here!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

More OVLOV love, this one was truly great, check out the shine on those wheels.

Oh and this last picture, is brilliant. I went down to London the other day, to sort of try out my new camera, and I was simply amazed to see this. Im certain someone must have spotted it before, but by god... Well here it is.

Posted Image

Posted

Brilliant, I cant remember the last time etc. I think I prefer the facelift versions, but shovel-nose carltons must be down to single figures now shirley?

Posted

Nice to see some of the Wheels Day cars I missed. GMC Syclone/Typhoon has long been on my lottery win list. Total Q-car in this country.

Jeez, time for an update and I have been doing some serious spotting lately, but ill keep it to the highlights! I will also chuck in some of the Basingstoke show pics, more in the future.

Posted Image

When did you last see a MKI Uno? Super rare now, in front of that shovel nose Carlton from the last update. In a super rough estate near Camden town.

Posted Image

Fairly tidy Sierra Laser estate, check out the non faded red.

Posted Image

I love these Justys, brilliant little cars. This one had the ECVT paragraph on the door.

Posted Image

What a cute little parking spot for a loved Metro.

Date of Liability 01 01 1998.

Oh....

Posted Image

An autoshite favourite, the 2.8 Series 1 XJ6!

Posted Image

This is quite a late MKI 800, I cannot belive how hard it is to see them now.

Posted Image

Go on, cover me in Linseed oil, you know you want to.

Posted Image

Filthy Fiesta, plush ghia trim though. These MKIs are nowhere near as rare as I first thought.

Posted Image

Does this have those slightly tinted bumpers?

Posted Image

Seriously mint RS Turbo, worth a million quid.

More to come!

Posted

Posted Image

Lovely Minx parked in Camberley, it was ace.

Posted Image

The local mega win Montego Estate, I didnt mean this shot to come out so well.....

Posted Image

Uber clean Cossie, its barely ever used.

Posted Image

One for wuvvum, great looking little cars.

Posted Image

Slightly rough looking double six, still wouldnt say no.

Posted Image

We all know how much these Ovlovs love to mock age, but what a gem. Mint.

Posted Image

Gorgeous 2000 thats been off the road for 24 years. Yep.

Posted Image

I love these early Blueys, such a clean shape. They survive fairly well around here, but definitely getting thinner on the ground.

Posted Image

Previously spotted 21 still looking in good shape.

More coming....

Posted

Posted Image

I tell you what, these N13s are fast becoming rare! I used to see them everywhere a few months ago, now next to none!

Posted Image

This thing looks so unsafe.

Posted Image

Yep, thats another MKIV, hmmm.

Posted Image

What a brilliant car. Flat paintwork, lowly trim and a half arsed attempt to create a new blind spot in the windscreen. Ace.

Posted Image

What a survivor, I know its not the oldest one around but its still excellent.

Posted Image

I havent seen an early XM for ages. I think I prefer them.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Funny what 9 years of age difference looks like!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Im not too sure if I like the square headlamps on the MKIII, but theres no denying that theyre great looking.

Posted Image

One of the most unexpected finds ever. And it didnt turn up at the Basingstoke show, I was well chuffed seeing this! Insanely mint.

More later!

Posted

Posted Image

Spends most of its time under a cover, currently being brought back into life.

Posted Image

This BX was only on the road for 9 years, someone is keeping it clean though.

Posted Image

Have a send off with style, with a diesel Omega.

Posted Image

Dont see many three door models anymore. In a shabby condition.

Posted Image

Lovely colour, dont really see these anymore. Shame, they are great looking.

Posted Image

OAP owned Safrane, in pretty good shape. He took a long time getting in.

Posted Image

I havent seen a base Sapphire for ages, this one was a suprise. Morrisons is constantly bringing out new shite.

Posted Image

This was also there at the same time as the Sierra, China Blue of course. Local car, good to see it still around.

Posted Image

I know some of you will love this. Absolutely mint SRi, what an excellent car.

Posted Image

It must be Vauxhall season, yet another GTE. Door was practically open, nice one.

Posted Image

Nice enough Granny, with cosworth wheels. I swear half of these are either Black or Blue.

Posted Image

Another one for Fred, tidy MKII LWB at the show was parked in a bush.

Even more coming tomorrow.

Posted

Heres some from the show mixed in with some more local spots.

Posted Image

This was fantastic, I hope it was an ex RAC unit. Cant be many in this livery.

Posted Image

These MKIII Granadas are getting popular with enthusiasts now, seems to be an awful lot of them in great condition.

Posted Image

Lovely D series was one of many commercials at the show, this one has most probably just been restored due to the DVLA showing signs it hasnt been taxed for over a decade.

Posted Image

How do you stick out in a line of Stags and MGBs? In this honey, thats how.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Gorgeous car, there was one local to me for ages but it vanished when I started taking photos. Damn.

Posted Image

Seems kind of odd seeing a prefacelift model with the Dodge name, front window looked a little suspect...

Posted Image

Mint.

Posted Image

Best Lorry there was this beast. Look at it!

Posted Image

One for RG, spotless example.

Posted Image

A chap in Weybridge obviously loves MKVs, he has 3 of them!

Posted Image

I have a feeling this may be a one owner car, judging by the man in it. Its perfect though.

Posted Image

One for the bus lovers, I think period adverts make old Buses look that teeny bit better. There is still a VR doing a school service in Basingstoke.

Posted Image

Rusty Ital van hasnt moved since 95. To be fair, it doesnt look too bad for that amount of time.

Posted Image

This Nova has a fair bit of rust on it, but pretty shocked this one survived scrappage.

Posted Image

I cant ever recall seeing one of these on the road. I bet its a bit cramped on the inside, to say the least.

Posted Image

I dont understand why this one wasnt on display at the show. Beautiful, I didnt actually know these existed until I saw it.

Posted Image

This was opposite the Ital, god knows what the owner will buy when this dies. Still, its lasted 5 years longer than the Ital did so far.

Posted

What was he thinking when he stuck that god awful stripe down the doors.... :?

Posted Image

Posted

Posted Image

The local mega win Montego Estate, I didnt mean this shot to come out so well.....

quote]

Nice to see that the old dear in the Montego has made the effort to wear a circa 1973 polyester headscarf. I bet she's wearing a beige mac aswell.

In my day. all the old dears wore these and had either a blue or purple rinse and a tartan shopping trolley in tow, off to collect the latest knitting patterns.

Nowadays, they're all plucked and tweaked with 'DandG' T-shirts. tight jeans and Linda Evans hairdos, snorting coke and shagging in the gutter.

Oh, if I'd seen that Peugeot 204 cabrio , I'd have probably spent 3 hours staring at it.... and then gone home not seeing owt else. :?

Posted

I remember that Marina RAC van from last year - it is a real RAC one, and apparently the only surviving one from their fleet.I was most impressed by the absolutely gorgeous Renault 16 on display at the show - and there was another one in the car park too.....that's probably about 50% of all the surviving 16s in the UK!

Posted

Rusty Ital van hasnt moved since 95. To be fair, it doesnt look too bad for that amount of time.

I dread to think what it looks like underneath, mind! Loving the Ford wagon, trucks looked so much tougher back then.
Posted

Do you know any more about that 2000?Im thinking old fella banned from driving but still lovingly cleans and polishes it!RAC Marina van FTW.

Posted

The 2000 is owned by the same people who own the mint 740 saloon, oddly thats on SORN, yet is clearly on the road! Perhaps they cant drive and just polish the life out of both of them.
