Selling my wife's 1999 Puma 1.4 16v in Melina Blue, It's done 91k and has full history and tons of paperwork and receipts from new.

Comes with 12 months mot from yesterday and tax until the end of Feb 2010 (Cheap tax)

Only faults are a slightly scabby o/s/r wheel arch as always and it's due a cambelt change but i'll throw the cambelt kit in which i bought but never fitted.

Has a CD Multi-changer in the boot and ABS, PAS, Electric Windows and two keys.

Very nippy for a 1.4 Zetec and has great road handling and steering.

Ideal for first time buyer and women, Not ideal for 6ft blokes. :?

Looking for £1750 ono for it and I'm in Ipswich, Suffolk. 07824993306

I'd have been upset if you'd posted a 1.7 in here, but that qualifies by being a 1.4.I like Pumas.

Seems a lot, but then I dont know what pumas are worth. I like them though! nice car.

I think it's a lot but looking on the web there's garages local to me selling R plate 1.4's for £2200, I only paid £1995 for it last May!.I think the 1.4 hold there value a bit due to the cheaper tax and insurance so they appeal to young drivers plus they are still quite poky and fun to drive. If someone put £1500 in my hand I'd let it go for that but don't tell anyone...

Paid about the same 2 & a half years ago for a 2000 X plate Alfa 146 Ti with 2 litres & 155bhp, was a great drive & on these figures a comparative bargain.

we'll ignore the fact it's sat in the driveway unused for nearly a year now

Nice little car but (with respect) it looks like it's chucked it's coolant over the rear of the engine bay at some point, you might want to clean it up and take another picture as it could throw someone off it.

I paid a bag of sand from a dealer for my 99 T Cougar in January.. saw a similar very tidy one go through the auctions a few weeks ago for £550!

I was thinking the same, It's dirty water from where it's been through a puddle , It's never used any water since I've had it, I might run it down the Turks place by the pub and get it cleaned of though.

Probably best in case someone gets wrong idea. I believe these cars are really popular and can't see it taking ages to sell.

Can you really get a Cougar that cheap?? They are Mondeo floorpans/running gear aren't they?

For some reason the Cougars don't seem to sell for much, Bit like the Ford Probes, especially the 2.5 V6's.

funnily enough I just had a dealer looking over my shoulder at this and looking at the arch and engine bay the most he'd pay would be around £500 as in his words the head gaskets are bastards! In good order with that mileage he'd be looking at £900 with an idea of knocking it out around £2100 with a warranty

You can see why so many Puma have been traded in against scrappage then at those prices, be collectible soon! It's hasn't used any water or oil since we have had it, i'm sure It's had something replaced before i got it to do with the heating, i'll have to check the paperwork but the head gasket is good. The mot tester was saying they have had a few 1.7 with blown headgasket which they have had to scrap as the engines are over £2k plus labour for them, mines only the fiesta so iu.s cheaper to fix.

In a few years, once scene tax has worked it's magic these will start getting properly expensive. Really like Pumas - had a new 1.7 as a company car years ago, look good and nice to drive.Good luck with selling!

i'm sure It's had something replaced before i got it to do with the heating,

That's likely to be the heater valve that regulates the coolant flow through the heater matrix, a very common failing on the Ka and Fiesta.Had a lady phone up the garage where I work (in Ipswich) a few weeks ago, specifically after a Puma.

I think it was the valve now you say it, i'm at work so i can't check the paperwork atm but dovercourt ford done most the work on it.Which garage do you work at then? You have my number if she's still after a Puma.

Well it's still sitting here, I've had two girls call about it but never heard anything back and two poxy 0208 numbers trying to get me sell the car through them. So price drop to £1595 now. :D
