Pikey Alert West London

I just had a ring on the doorbell, was busy on the computer and the phone, did glance out and saw a white Fiat Ducato P718 THT. I looked away and then through the window heard doors opening and clattering. The cheeky fooker was loading me metal shelf into his van  . Now, it's not highly valuable, but I have also lost an MT75 gearbox and a DI rad, but didn't see anybody that time.Details have been reported to the police. This is only one step away from coming back with a hi ab and taking a van!

It does have benefits sometimes. I've left 2 broken washing machines and 1 broken lawnmower in the front garden at different times (with the intention of moving them in the next day or 2) and they've all been nabbed before I could move them (W13).

Did you stop them in time Fred?Actually, I can just picture it now, a high (ish) speed chase through the streets of west London involving a Fiat Ducato & a Transit. I'd pay to see that.

Nope, couldn't get out of the house in time to get em, they must have seen me in the mirrors. I should have got the amby out and been after them......

When we lived in slough someone stole our broken television and broken washing machine. Well the washer wasnt broken, it just shredded clothes. hahaha

That's what happened to my FSO 125p! My daughter heard a noise and ran out to see it being loaded into a low-loader! She inquired of the 2 guys precisely what was the reason for the action they seemed to be taking (only in not quite so many words....) and noted the registration number of the low loader. She then called me on my mobile as the guys were so arrogant and assured her that they were working with Barnet Council approvalI told her to walk away and leave them to it. I had NOT arranged to have the car collected (it was parked in our drive, off the highway, but Barnet council offer a disposal service for residents) as I value my daughter's beauty FAR more than a FSO! She gave a detailed description to the police, including registration numbers etc., all to no avail. The police officer said we were lucky; some people had been assaulted when trying to intervene.Discretion is often the better part of valour!

Photographs, they dont like it up 'em.... Next time run out waving a phone, camera, tv remote anything and make them think you have their picture - they usually fook off sharpish at this point.

Next time I will go out and offer to have a game of baseball with them. That would be nice.

Any chance you could ask if they've seen my Herald radiator before the first swing?

A few years back (5/6'ish) a friend lost an immaculate green Mk1 Golf GTI from his driveway. The engine was out, so it looked a little odd with it's nose in the air. So someone towed it off for scrap (well it was in Bow - E.London). The local scrap yard even remembered it being in such good nick, before they crushed it.... :(

told a guy in work today about the pikey problem and he said he lost a 76 daimler- 3.6, a 77- 4.2 jag, and a mazda 323 the bastards just drove into a cul-de-sac and lifted them none of the neighbours saw a thing and the cars were never recovered. :(

First two probably got bangered. Not putting all banger racers down, but there are the odd few devious ones that would definately have took these. Early jags are a favourite. Dunno why anyone would take the mazda though...? lol

The Police are shit when it comes to stuff like this..We had a van stolen from our yard. Van was parked up, but with keys in. Pikeys just walked upto said van and drove off. ..Fortunately our vans have trackers, so we could follow it. It parked up in an obvious 'pikey' camp, we could see on the computer exactly where it was and so could the police...Did the police do anything? Nope fuck all.Admittedly we didnt want to go in the yard ourselves, but that's not our job is it - We waited a week or so and the van moved out of the pikey yard and just parked up up on some industrial estate, and two of our men went out to pick it up. We did ring the police again and they did actually attend us picking up , from a distance (we had spare keys, our men basically just got in and drove the van off)...As far as I am aware NOTHING happened to the pikey's, despite the police knowing exactly where they were based due to the tracker.

323s were mega popular as 1300(?) stock cars.
