That turned out to be something to do with his email address, which was never validated, or something. 

I'm not a mod, thank Christ, but I could be wrong about deletion and back-end shenanigans. 

I know you're upset, but the mods on AS can't do anything about the policies and posting habits on TDW. It's a different forum. 

I would urge you to log off and have a think about it before asking it all to be binned (if it can indeed be binned).

I never said they could - but they aren't doing anything about this one either - there's a set of "rules" that apparently don't mean anything - at the very least the "rules" should be removed or rewritten to make it very clear that personal insults and trolling is fine in the politics section, especially if done by a couple of posters.

I do understand this is all volunteer activity but hopefully my account and content will be gone soon as I have repeatedly asked for - I don't mind paying a contribution in line with any extra costs incurred.  The "rules" don't apply to everyone.

Your account can be locked out, but removing your posts isn't really viable.  It also drastically affects the readability of existing threads, so as a general rule, posts will not be removed.

I'd emplore you to consider what has been suggested above though.  Take a break from the forum, put certain members on ignore, and avoid the politics section.  I rarely go there, and have several people on ignore, as I really can't be arsed with their bullshit.

Read some car-based threads, post some stuff up of your own car-based shenannigans, and just ignore people who are causing issues.  Like all forums, you get from then what you want.  And there are always some idiots on any forum, best thing is to just not engage.

Piss weak response but how bullies usually get dealt with - victim blaming.  Just like the cowardly response from most schools if kids are daft enough to raise being victimised with teachers. Ah well at least you have clarified. Posters are allowed to relentlessly troll others on here and nothing will happen.

Maybe the solution is to leave and never return. With over 4000 posts it will be impossible for any forum to completely remove your comments. I am not a mod on this forum ,but I have been a mod on one.

Oh believe me, there are some spiteful, sanctimonious, crayoning 'but that's not what I meant! honest! [giggles]' cunts on this forum that I'd delight in firing into the sun, but they're all on ignore now.

The forum is what you make it, unfortunately. 

If it's upsetting you that much, log off for a while. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear, but it helps me to put the place on long breaks.

the account itself got Guest'ed during a back end-fuck-up, if you recall at the same time @Conan and @MattJY 's original accounts also got Guest'ed at the same time, and they where actively part-taking members who where never (AFAIK) involved in any sort of "politics"

but Hooli's content is still present, his posts are still here!

to entirely nuke someones content from the face of the forum would be a major PITA and pretty unfeasible 

 

I'd say, ignore the politics section/get a mod to ban you from it, and just focus on the less contentious sides of the forum
