The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 As an ex owner, I have to say that Gimps are cool in a way a shitty Mini never will be.Mine was a '66 Imp Super (RNK243D) in that dark green fitted with the engine and running gear from a real Imp Rallye 998. Alas it's long dead.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 That is absolutely stunning. What a great looking car.

HillmanImp Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 nice commer imp vanA recent N Z export !!!!! www.impwerks.co.nzWas this the one on e-bay that was up for (in my opinion) totally stupid money? 12k or something? The interior looked a bit grim for the money in my opinion as it had not been 'restored' like the outside, but i dont know shit really, its all in the eye of the beholder (hence why we are all Autoshiters). That cream chammy coop/cali with the green stripe still makes me moist though. That one that was on 'The cars the star'. If i remember rightly once belonged to Shane Lynch from Boyzone? It was for sale at the 95 Imp club national in Sussex and bought by him shortly after from memory. Is a nice car but is still a horrid colour. Time has done it no favours in that matter.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 That cream chammy coop/cali with the green stripe still makes me moist though. Maybe even Chamoist?
chester drawers Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 and another - this car used to be in swansea.then west wales, then aberystwyth then brigend before it dissapeared over the severn bridge. Into England and not the Severn or Wye I hope. Unaware the Zimp even existed until I saw your picture. Over to Keith Adams’ site archive to see if it’s there..
Spottedlaurel Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 This event even got discussed by Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie on Monday evening, a caller had been and it sparked various old car-related discussion and input from listeners. Radcliffe and Maconie are somewhat uneducated on car matters, but it was still entertaining.Nice pic’s. That Zimp is neat, a new one to me.
aled Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 yes -steve brindle was on the radio know him well, they were are a bit dopey as far as classics were concerned.
