Just a thought, but how easy is it to buy a car in Belgium and slip it onto Le Shuttle, destination Over Here?  Is there any particularly difficult paperwork we need to know about?

 

I'd be interested to know as in Belgium the reg plates are driver specific, that's why cars for sale over there often don't have plates showing. When we brought two back recently it was on transporters and a piece of cake!

This little beauty has now been on Autotrader for over a year, while other MG Maestros in similar condition for half the price have come and gone. Has previously not sold for £1500 and £1700 so I think they're definitely* onto something* with £1995.

If I wanted an over priced Maestro that has sat in a yard for a year I'd definitely be interested in this one, but I'd probably wait a bit longer in the hope that the price goes up some more.

Especially when you consider £2k would go a long way towards a Turbo, and probably in better nick than that one, too.

I think that place view their stock as a pension fund- in 30 years time they might be worth what they are looking for. My mate bought a low mileage Metro about 3 years ago and swapped it in there for a modern for daily use - he was asking about 1395 for that. He seems to confuse rarity with value - take the brown horizon, there might only be one left like that, but as there are not 2 people who want one, he's not going to get more than 2 bags for it.

seriously that's unbelievable, what was he thinking? If you drove that round by mine you'd have to wear a lid, even though not needed by law, cos it would absolutely be raining bottles and bricks. Looks like a result of the undateables do biker build off
