That Alfa is fucking disgusting. Although I did love this picture:

Jeez! That's from the very short period when they couldn't be arsed to move the rear wiper position to better suit RHD! (see also early Vauxhall Novas).

I always thought that way round was more sensible because it cleared most of the glass over your left shoulder. I think the dealers used to adjust them so they parked flat though. My dad had a GLS and his dealer told him that they had a spate of people needing replacement rear wiper motors because initially the rear wasn't intermittent and because people (not being used to such luxuries) were leaving the rear wiper on driving down the motorway when there was no water landing on the glass they were burning motors out left right and centre.

Anyway, the best thing about the GLS (apart from electric mirrors) were the wheels - which latterly came with proper centre covers instead of the rubber blobs. This one appears to have only one original wheel. Or perhaps three - who knows what is on the other side? I also can't work out if that door is open slightly, or saggier than a bulldog's face.

'It was made as the main advertisement for a lady's dance studio'

If you got Emma Bunton to pole dance in the knack I still wouldn't go and watch if this was outside.

Well I ignored you're advice, and did. I've now got conjunctivitis

I really can't work that out. I had one of these (un-modded I should add) so I recognise the grille thing (top left) as the bit of console that covers the air temperature sensor for the climate control. Which means that circular hole is where the dial to set the climate control temperature should be. Davros' control panel is bolted in to where the hazard light switch should be. And what a beautiful job it is. But I am baffled by the rest of it. I remember a segment on Tomorrow's World once where they were demonstrating the wonder of fibre optic cable with a device that essentially ran fibre optics from each light to a little box on the dash so you could tell if any bulbs has burst. Perhaps it's one of those?

It's hideous. And has no chance of getting an MOT. And the top of the engine is in a cardboard box.

What's not to like?

Not sure whether I can avoid these for much longer. Might just get me one, turn into a senile hoarder and let it rot away under a King-Kong-sized pile of rubbish.

Do you guys realise that these are genuine 100 mph projectiles with servo disc brakes?

Personally, I'd have one just for the gearchange mechanism. It's beautiful. These are firmly on my radar. Sadly, money isn't.

That's good then, because they don't cost much.

This, with a £6,000 BIN, is amazing. Full MOT. Certainly looks a lot better than the usual £6k white ex-wedding cars. Even has an 8-track player AND a cassette player!

Hmmmmmmmmmm close look at that rear wheel arch suggests that the wob fairy has paid a visit........cheap Rollers are the way to financial doom, as a mate of mine found out when he had to do a major brake rebuild on one, which came out at over £3k...........
