They can fetch a fortune. One came up at auction here for 80 bags.

If this was in the Olympics they'd do the drug test twice.

It has a V8, but is completely standard in other ways:

Due to space constraints, driver stature should be limited to 5’9†in height and have average build.

Look, this Citroen SM has braking distances marked on the speedo. That's interesting.

Phil must be nearly ready for another one of these now.  The black tailgate is a weird design decision, it makes the car look like it's had a rear end shunt.

That's 'cos it's an Autobianchi. The Y10 was sold under that brand in Italy. They all came with that tailgate as far as I know. Naples was littered with them in the late 80's, regarded as the posh panda!

Steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Unless you are desperate to have an "Autobianchi" instead of a Lancia don't bother as it's the non fun engined version.

Good for parts for a Panda though.

I have been inspired to look for some nineties Mazdashite. Just how far will a monkey go?

EXHIBIT A: The Thinking Man's BMW 3-Series

Exhibit B: I've loved these since they were new and this one is even the V6

Exhibit C: A little bit more will get this tasty Coupe

I'm pretty sure the 1.8 in these was a V6. Did anybody else make a V6 with a smaller displacement than that?

Conclusion: 90s Mazdas are ace.

Mazda went a bit mental in the mid 90's. They had that teeny 1.8v6, the miller cycle engine and the wankel in the rx7. My dad had a v6 mx-3 for years and it was a great little thing to drive if not a bit thirsty. The interior was what really dated it, it was like sitting in a block of shiny black plastic.
