Young man, there's no need to feel down, I said young man, get a Metro that's brown.

It's fun to wait for the RAC AA?

Splendid work guys! Some mutha-grade shite squidging up between my toes tonight!

If I had an autoshite fetish, it would be fibreglass cars.  There's lots to recommend them in terms of individuality, performance, character and rarity.  Unfortunately they're usually half broken and even when mended will be a little bit rubbish.

I'd love to chuck my hard-earned onto any of these

Metro-based Midas Gold.  If this had come up when I last had cash, I'd be looking miserable at a car made entirely from rust free fibreglass except for a Metro subframe.  With a rusty Metro subframe

I love a bit of wedge, but at 42 I'm too old for a convertible.  This TVR would fit the bill perfectly.  If it worked, natch

Let's have an exception to the convertible rule straight away.  I was about 17 when TVR launched their S and it was a great looking car.  Love the wheels on this early one,

Back to coupés again.  This Cerbera has TVRs own V8, designed after their chairman said he wouldn't use the Rover engine after BMW bought them.  Britain does fibreglass sports cars and casual racism very well

Lotus made some stunning cars, back in the '70s they had been F1 world champions a few times, they'd shaken off their kit car roots and were producing classy motors.  Pop up headlights are awesome, although this car is only half awesome

Oof!

Even the daft 80's rubber aerial doesn't spoil that pert little bottom.

Nope, he's 20 with a year's NCB. I wouldn't like to think what his insurance would be like, but he's 'only' paying about £2,000 for his 147 (1.6) at the moment.

I'm trying to talk my lad into getting a "classic", pre 72, limited miles, curfew and insurance black box.

With all that the thieving b'stards should pay him.

On "Young guns classics" site 20year olds lads paying about £4-500.

What!

Where the hell do you live because you must have a horrific post code for insurance. About a year ago at the age of 20 with 1 years no-claims I was paying half that on a 2.0 156.

Prices surely can't have doubled in the last year.

Back on subject, this is rather a hansom beast.

NEVER WELDED

Maybe it should have been welded a little bit.

That's not steep believe it or not, and the SR is probably more sought after than the GT/E and GSi models.

I can definitely believe it.

Unfortunately, even a solid platinum Rolls Royce PeasantCrusher XXFL would seem steep at £2,250 to my fiscally tightened pockets.

Plus, I'm a Scottish Yorkshireman, recipe for the tightest man on earth.
