eBay tat volume 3.

Don't think these had Yamaha engines, the only ones (that I recall) were the (earlier, Mk3) two stroke police cars and they (Yam) also had a hand in the Puma 1.7 engine. Like the man in the built up shoes though, I stand to be corrected.

The Zetec SE engine for the Fiesta / Focus is a Ford project, but the development was sub-contracted to Yamaha.

1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 versions were / are manufactured by Ford in Europe.

The 1.7 was manufactured by Yamaha themselves under contract to Ford, but that was because it was a low volume off-shoot project.

Yamaha also developed a 1.05 3 cylinder version for the Ka, but that didn't make it as it was too expensive compared to the old OHV Valencia donk.

That 45 V6 is quite nice - I think it should have the horrible cheap taxi seats but someone has retro-fitted the earlier type. Must be one of the last v6 efforts, dont think I've ever seen any newer than an 03 plate

Oh, the two stroke was nothing to do with Yamaha, it was a collaboration with Orbital, an Aussie design consultancy.

Killed by emissions, amongst other things.

I have driven a two stroke Fiesta (within the Aveley Plant no less!) but It didn't strike me as the answer to Ford's problems

£650 - 1993 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.8i GLS - 128,000m - Staines

Seller's Description

So here I have this lovely little classic gem -
A 1993 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.8i GLS finished in a blue (sort of metallic?) fairly equipped with front electric and somewhat automatic windows, heated mirrors which do function!
It’s bodywork is in good condition considering age and mileage, it does have a couple of light dink’s and scrapes. No major rust on the car at all. The previous owner had acquired a set of GSI or Sri Alloys which are currently on the car at the moment but it does come with its original steel wheels and original hub caps! All 9 wheels (spare in the boot) have good tread depths.
Running wise it’s brilliant starts on the button even on a cold start, it has 128500 miles on the clock however you wouldn’t think from the way it drives as no knocks and bangs! It has back in March before I got the vehicle had a timing belt and water pump replaced, so that’s not required for a good mileage and few years!
It has an MOT till 03/19 and I cannot see why it would not sail through next year!
Has full hand books from when the vehicle was first bought and a Haynes manual. V5 is present
Viewing recommended
Cash on collection only
Can arrange delivery for an additional fee.
Sold as seen no warranty given

It was an experiment iirc, think they made them for the rozzers, but it didn't work out.

Autoshiters get overly excited about one in 2014.

I'd forgotten all about Purple Horse until you just mentioned it.

I think you and I and FPB7 and one or two others had wandered off again at that point, in search of either the big jet engine firing up or a cup of tea.

The fuck is a Sportium?

Ah, the Sportium. That refers to the extra large panel gap between the front bumper and bonnet to allow the Nitrous to vent when screaming down the 1/4 mile
