My girlfriends dad seriously wants that 45 above. It looks pretty woeful for fuel economy but he seems adamant.

I did send him a link for an 820 auto knowing he has a bit of a weak spot for 800s...

I like it too but I'm not sure I could live with The Fear of OMGHGF.

Wait a minute - I always thought Rover named their cars according to the average age of their target demography,

i.e. 25 for 25 year olds, 45 for 45 year olds and 75 for 75 year olds?

Are there 45 year old giffers?

Posted

I was going to say I had a 45 at age 20 and a 75 at age 22, so that makes me a very early starting giffer, but then realised that everything I've owned has been a giffer fave - Micra, Metro, 25, 45, 75, Kia Rio, Fiat Pandas.

Suzuki Celeriac next, driven at no more than 19 MPH anywhere.

Lad at work with zero spannering experiemce did a headgasket on his doom blue 200 3 or 4 years ago with borrowed tools, ebay parts and instruction from a few youtube videos. He did have encouragement and advice from a couple of old shite-fondlers, but we didn't touch his car.

He's still driving it too, don't think it has been washed since.

So no excuses.

OMG! I had one of these back in the seventies. They are brilliant. Separate reverse gearbox so you can change gear going  backwards. How cool is that. 65mph backwards if you can handle it. Fuel economy is crap. 12 mpg. All the electrics are waterproof so you can go as deep as the snorkel which attaches to the hole behind the front wheel.

Armour plated Rolls Royce engine?

You can kiss my bum, Iveco

I remember long ago another starry night like this

In the warning lights, Iveco

Your gearbox was humming to yourself and electrical problems are bizzarre

I could hear the brake drums

And sounds of RAC engines were coming from afar

They were closer now Iveco

Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally

I was so afraid Iveco

You were shit and full of life and about to expire electrically

And I'm not ashamed to say

The roar of guns and cannons would make me dead happy

There was something in the air that night

The front wheels most like, Iveco

the recovery light's for you and me

It's the RAC, Iveco

Though we never thought that we could win

There's lots of regret

If I had to buy a van again

It would NOT, my friend, be Iveco

There was something wrong with the brakes that night

They're fucking shite, Iveco

They weren't working there for you nor me

so I hit the tree, Iveco

Though we never thought that we could win

There's lots of regret

If I had to crash a van again

It would be you, you c*nt,  Iveco

Armour plated Rolls Royce engine?

Yeah, and the fording depth is only limited by the level of the nose of the driver.

The entire electrickery is within a tubing system that's perfused by warm air and each instrument has a glass cover with a rubber seal.

I never really saw the point of armour plating the engine and not the driver.

However.

If this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Austin-champ-project-barn-find-/142494855478

s-l1600.jpg

is

Classified Ad price: £6,000.00

and this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Austin-Champ/352156713256

s-l1600.jpg

is

£5,995.00 BIN

then I know for sure I'm dealing with two complete fuckwits and the cars aren't worth half a bag.

Also, there is this:

would make a great car for an enthusiast.

Have I ever told you that I'm sick and tired of dealing with these stupid monkeys?

Do these ocean going thunderdolts really think any non enthusiast would even click into the listing?

It's a bit like saying would suit animal lover when trying to flog a horse.

Jeezerz fucked.

A bit more of the daily dose of stupid shit:

gearbox is fairly smooth.

Does this mean it's fucked? Or not? Or what's the fucking deal?

Leaks a bit underneath, but thats champs for you.

No, it isn't. It's an oil seal being fucked. Is it really too much to ask which one it fucking is?

Could do with some work on the electrics , rewire or a new old stock loom would be a major benefit

So why don't you say loud and clear that the famous Champ specific electric system is fucked and needs to be replaced?

Trying to be fair and honest

Yeah, but you of course fail miserably, you fucking rotter.

yes it does need work but the price reflects that.

The price reflects fucking shit. If being favourably, the price merely reflects the illusion that any fucked old heap must be worth a wad.

Pics show that she has been loved.

The pics would hold up in court to prove that nobody gave a fucking shit about it for forty years.

The filtrate is, it's a fucked through Sun and Moon scrap heap with fucked electrics, a fucked engine, fucked gearbox,

trying to be qualified off as a classic car for 6k. Yes, 6,000 Pounds. Which soon will be 4 Euros.

And now you know why.

In this condition they are like shit from a rocking hen with teeth.

Any questions?

How hard is it to do a heater core on these?

How about another one:

Or a pair of possibly fucked ones:

Who needs pictures anyway?

Heater core is a royal bitch, sadly a weak point of these.

Also note that all Mi 16s have totally unacceptable gear boxes.

Agreed on the gearbox

Who has the time, effort, motivation and money to change their own gears these days anyway?

And who needs a heater in Australia anyways, its hot enough here as it is!

Apologies is this one has already featured:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/proton-saga-1-5se-classic-car-/112543091361?hash=item1a34174aa1:g:OPUAAOSwlTNZlDiD

It's the origami-tastic Proton 1.5 SE saloon, located in Cannock. Bidding up to £227 but reserve is not met with one day left to go. Might be worth keeping an eye on if any of you shiters fancy one.
