Untaxed since 1991, and one of the oldest ads I've ever seen on gumtree ('posted 165 days ago'). But doesn't look in terrible shape. Love the interiors on these too.

 

No idea what the market for these is like though - is £995 too much? If the amount of time it's been posted for is anything to go by, they haven't had much interest.

As a man who has dedicated his entire life to finding moderate thrills, this looks sufficiently disappointing.

At the time I didn't fancy the Acclaim at all, the Astra was much more my cup of tea. I had a (later obviously) 216 VdP for a while and I liked that a lot but it went back when my employer went under.

 

Now, 35ish years on I could easily covet an Acclaim.

Actually happened me about three weeks ago, was talking to an old guy and in the corner of his turf shed was a ........ Riley Kestrel!

He had the engine removed many years ago to have it done up but it never happened. Now trying to get him to part with it :)

Will update if I get it. Also about two months ago I discovered an Xr2 that an old guy bought in the UK 10 years ago, brought it to Ireland and it set in a barn since. I bought that one :)
