Those terrible headlights for a start.

Then these shit septic whitewalls without speed rating.

The sills look very crusty indeed.

Tidy-looking XJ-S HE in need of a little light* recommissioning, for 1800 BINs.  If anyone has the stones to take this on, I believe I have a spare ignition amplifier and coil I can send you which might cure the non-starting issue.  Or might not.

If it hasn't run for 16 years, budget the same again for a rear brake rebuild.  Ask me how I know.

Could be merely stale petrol, no?

Yeah, I'd like to know how rear brakes can cost that much.

Yep, certainly could just be stale petrol.  But if there's one thing I've learned, there's never just one thing wrong with an old Jaguar.

Rear brake servicing step 1: dismantle the back half of the car.  To be fair, there were also some suspension bits and an exhaust included in the cost when they did mine.

Yeah, the rarest and hardest to find Daimlers are undoubtedly the ones that weren't built in the first place during the 1970s strikes.
