This came from a main dealer about 1.5 miles away from me and is still local somewhere. Might have a bid, but if anyone else on here fancies it I won't bother bidding as no point in running the price up. Happy to go and have a look round it if anyone's seriously interested in to it. 

 

 

Had a reply from the vendor of this, or at least whoever advertised it.

 

'Hi,

The car was last on the road in 2000

I have run it on occasions over the years unil the clutch slave cylinder died

There is work to do and this would be a Project to restore.'

 

 

I've now got a 'phone number anyhow, so might try and get up over the weekend to have a look.

The only MOT fail point on that 505 was this...

 

  • Reason(s) for failure

    nearside Headlamp excessively deteriorated so that the light output is severely reduced (1.7.5a)

 

Why would you not just fix that and get a pass? Why limit your selling market to those who've got some means to recover a 505 estate?

Why didn't the girl with Technicolor Vectra stop customising it when she realised it was a Vectra?

I imagine her phone call to the insurance company for a quote is a long one when noting down all the mods...

Both sills replaced and car completely professionally resprayed & varnished.

 

11 months test (Aug 2017) with no advisories but engine will need some attention as a few cylinders low on compression
