That 10 year old Alfa Coupe has probably died of shame at having an engine from a miser's hatchback.

The plugs died off at the tail end of last year and haven't been disturbed so not snapped off in the head like usually found!

Has he tried to shift them, I wonder? Nightmare fuel piping, seals and control valves at the IP end, too. JM doesn't realise how lucky he is with his 603.

1964 Mercury Monterey....just like the one driven by Eddie Albert and June Havoc in the famous Outer Limits monster alien tumbleweed episode (cept that one was in black and white of course)

Just look at the 19 pictures of this via the link. It looks magnificent. If the Americans had carried on building stuff like this they wouldn't have ended up driving round in ridiculous shitty trucks and bloody Kias....and I bet they wouldn't be at serious risk of having someone like Donald Trump as President. They need to take a long hard look at themselves and work out how they so royally f****d up! RIP Mercury!

I'm in love.

See them walking hand in hand across the bridge at midnight

Heads turning as the lights flashing out it's so bright

Then walk right out to the seven line track

Then the camera's falling and she's on her back, on her back

And I sense the drugs are humming in a frenzy all the way down to her spine

I don't really understand what you are trying to do here. So the bloke wants £350 for a car that isn't worth it, but what is the point of making a stupid offer ????. I doubt he will sell it to you now so if you did actually want it he is more likely to weigh it in than sell to you.

2.0 SEH is about 130 BHP ? and quite cheap second hand BUT is BIG block and heavy metal.

Personally I think a small block 1.3 8V with silly tuning would make 130 bhp and Handle better.

Or a  small block 1.6 16V out of an astra mk3 sport with a bit of fettling, would make 130 Bhp and be quite useable.

Basically why fuck up the handling by fitting a heavy engine?

I like the alloys but see no reason to go above 14 inch.

I was in a weird mood last night. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Yes, but I don't think I could tow that back south behind my Justy. Not even with some air in the tyres.

As these things are still quite expensive, I have a long term plan to get one in about five years.  Unfortunately, at my current rate of saving, I will have paid enough in overdraft charges alone by then to have bought a new one.
