Sigh...

The car has been on and off my radar since I discovered it in Ireland almost 20 years ago. Back then it was still largely in one piece, but had a smashed windscreen and no engine and gearbox.

The latter is relatively easy to rectify, thanks to usage of standard Mopar hardware, and apparently the current owner managed to source a suitable unit, although obviously not a 100% correct one.

I still can't see a replacement windscreen in the parts pile, so must assume the worst.

Sadly it's also a tad above the income group I'm currently in and the impact of selling the 405 will not change this significantly enough, I'm afraid.

Fugging hell, I thought that Saab was mine for a moment!  They truly are great cars and mine has done over 200,000 miles without any incidents.

This looks a lot of bang for you buck.

What could be a very early R12, with a Series 2 front end, in Somerset. Radiator and front end damage, apparently, as well as what seems to be plenty of giffer repairs. At £250 ono theapest we will probably see for a while - these seem to be on the up. But... DVLA have lost* the carte grise and the owner doesn't seem to have heard of NOVA. WCPGW?

I was just about to say, sure they are 1.6/1.8 L trims of the mk2.

The base would have had a small centre cap in the middle of a silver steely. I learnt to drive in a Base 1.6 estate 4 speed manual in beige. The interior was similar with the mocca dash, but the carpets were sand.

'See how the artist has lovingly captured not only the quintessential essence of the dire background, but also the alacrity of the vendor by the juxtaposition of what this motorised craft will be transpired into in weeks forthcoming. Next week one interviews Garry Rigger-Boot (PSV, HGV, PRE-69) about his forays into the oval, and how he was overcome with emulsion prior to his forthcoming victory at Wimbo'
