What's the catch? Is there a £2 million export tax or something?

Posted

I know many NA Pug 306's came without power steering, needed arms like Popeye to park the buggers unless you stuck 40psi in the front tyres.

ISTR the same applied to some 405's, ridiculously heavy to steer...would the same apply to a lower spec (not that one above with its posh seats) BX?

Yes, you could get some NA dizzler BXs without PAS. I've never driven one though, only a 1.4 with no PAS, which is far lighter. Not a bad steer really. PAS was standard on estates I think, so it was only the lowly-spec hatchbacks that didn't have it (in 1.7 or 1.9 litre form).

My G plate 1700 NA had no PAS, no sun roof, no additional sound proofing under the thin carpets, nothing.

Wasnt that bad a drive really. Easy enough to park.

WOT!, how dare they, we've been meaning to make that trip for years. Norway is a trific place.

Nope, but Norway isn't an EU member so import monies may apply. I bought my '62 Bluebird in Norway but I don't recall HMRC charging me anything for it. Maybe because it was only £600 and so old...I don't know.

That blue Mazda estate is such a stunnah!!! NEW GRITS PLEASE

If this isn't a total rot box it's got to be well worth the £600 this guys asking for it.

One Saturday morning in the summer of 2010 I went to my garage to take her for a spin down to Brighton, and the battery had gone flat from a 3-4 week period of no driving. I left it a week with the promise of getting a new battery... and then another week passed, and then another, then a month, another month, then a year, then another and now nearly 3 and a half years have passed and I still haven't got round to doing anything. Shameful.

I worry this is what's going to happen with my Cortina.

Pricewise this should go in the bargains thread but it's so bonkers it's almost worth it. I've never seen a conversion like this before!

Have you ever wondered what Liam Gallagher would look like if he was partly crossed with Paul Chuckle and Ray Davies and was wearing a hairpiece made out of one of those frilly umbrellas you see at shit Spanish seaside resorts?

Well, wonder no longer fellow wonderists because here is your answer...

'professionally air brushed with the scare face pics'

Possibly slightly less 'professional' is the wording 'Say hello to my little friend' and then making the number plate light look a bit like a cock sticking out.

I used to get ferried around in a twin wheel one of these at my first ever job as a YTS nursery worker for Kunta McKenzie, in Christleton, Chester. The old boy who used to drive always ended up going over grass verges and took roundabouts flat out, usually resulting in me being hit by various wheelbarrows and gardening implements. I don't suppose he found it funny when I used to piss in coke bottles then loosen the cap a bit and roll them down the front through.
