Frisbe-ing the wheel trims aside, in what way could this car be improved?

Did you say automatic gearbox, dear reader? Award yourself ten points if you did

The Datsun is a lovely thing, though. In fact I was eyeing it up when it was offered at an ACA sale last week, where it sold for £1400 including fees. Add in the fuel for the vendor's 200 mile round trip to collect it, plus their time, wjat sort of price are they expecting it to make on ebay to justify the expense?

I've got nothing against selling cars for a profit. I'm sure we've all bought cars that were cheap with the sole intention of selling on, but shitehawks like this who reckon they can make their fortune flipping undesirable motors on ebay really wind me up. The ad has less information and worse pictures than the ACA catalogue ffs!

It's back, you posted this first time round and I had a couple of bids...

South Kent, no station so a bit of a git to get to.

Chester to Ashford is only 3.5 hours tho!

It's an RB44 basically the final evolution of the dodge50 and a failed MOD funded project for a 4x4 bigger than a landrover but smaller than a lorry to essentially replace the landrover 101s.

They're fine if used regularly but when stored for significant periods they had issues with the brakes pulling badly to one side, there were several recalls and a court case about suitability for purpose I believe.

Van body ones are mega rare - I've never seen another, they were mainly chassis cabs.

They're also beloved by New Age travellers, showmen and hippy folk due to there simplicity, cheapness ability to be easily downplated and the fact that seemingly at least 80% of the ones remaining are registered in the Showmans taxation category so are mot exempted (on paper at least).

I like them because memories and I always wanted to be a crusty juggler with dreds living in a van with a dog on a string, ideally parking up wherever the surf is good and buggering off to Europe in it over winter :)

Unfortunately I'm now a responsible parent and don't have the space to have this parked up, given a friendly park up I would have been getting quotes to have it shifted.

There's some info on the Battle of the Bean field here

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Beanfield

Basically Thatcher had declared open season on those who didn't tow her line as she did to the Unions, the police were only to happy to once again wade in and dish out a kickinhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKrmo9H8XYg. Footage of the events went missing or was taken as evidence and not returned. It doesn't make pleasant reading especially the eye witness accounts.

I thought I heard something calling me...

Bloody hell, I don't even remember it first time round. Wonder why it got re-listed, it seems a fairly 'genuine' advert to be fair.
