I also replaced the boot lock as there was a seal missing.

Old.

And new.

New one tightened up a lot better.

Luckily the whole grille is mounted securely with one bolt and the weight of the bonnet so it was easy to reattach, after I added an ABSOLUTE LOSER AA badge.

So what now?

Well.

It's been like, three weeks?

So probably time to roffle it and pursue another board gem that I've always lusted after.

Car-pe Diem and all that.

Why do what I consider highly desirable cars come up for roffle when I have no money?

If you're anything like me, it's because the universe hates you.

Afternoon all. As may have been over on the 2Savvy thread, I has been doing another buy;

With toosavvy moving on to Suzuki ownership, the opportunity to purchase his Toyota Carina 2 arose. I had seen it at a local meet some time ago and it looked class.

Without seeing it, or driving it, I paid for it and said I would give Toosavvy a lift down to Yorkshire to collect his replacement.

So a plan was planned, and executed with not much precision.

Picked up early morning today, I got a look at what I had bought.

Now. I know I look physically disabled here, but in truth, I am only mentally disabled.

And off to York we went. Fully steamed up.

Once in York, the Swift was in sight so it was time to switch.

I was given the keys.

Plans?

Probably the usual.

Drive it round a bit then see something else I like more, and release back into the wild via roffle.

2sav is a madman for binning his Carina for a Swift.

You're a winner for bagging the Carina. It looks lovely.

The Swift honestly did look like the newest old car that money could buy,  but me and you are in agreement.

Fully bamboozled - I thought that Carina IIs were 5x100 but that has four studs... 4x114.3?

Always liked this one, I've already admired it from afar via TooSavy's thread.

You know a car is 'of a certain age' when the manufacturers felt it necessary to SHOUT from the rooftops that it had 16 valves...  How many!? Loving the fact that they actually embossed it on the centre console too just to avoid you potentially forgetting.
