I hope you didn’t chuck all that rusty tin in the first picture away. That’s a £1500 ‘Barn Find’ on EBay!

weighed it in for £15. that was nearly 5 pints of proper beery beer

I've no photos, as it wasn't my car, but when I was looking for a Fiat X1/9 I looked at a fair few. One of them seemed too tidy and good-to-be-true. It was a mid-80's VS in tidy condition and lowish miles that didn't have the usually galloping rot on the rear suspension turrets or in the roll-hoop. The owner was extremely reluctant to let me take it's roof off, although I did insist and then found out why.

It had been grounded out at some point and ripped the underseal on both sills and the centre box-section that carries the water pipes from front to back. This had rotted very *very* badly, so when I stood on the center tunnel and applied momentum to it, the car basically folded in half.

Owner was fuming. I ran away.

...some 'spy shots' from a local hoarder my mate occasionally does some construction work for; chap allegedly had 75 cars at one point; most when acquired n they arrived onto his premises in decent or restorable nick... he sells nothing; occasionally he goes about his land with the front loader on the tractor and squishes the remains of the slumbering, often complete but rotten cars, n piles them all up; a twisted heap of engines, springs, wheels and rusty tin...

pics from a few years ago- 2015 ish...

Some bits of my spares Puma,MOT'd until April.I don't think spending the last 3 years or so literally 100 metres from the sea helped it.

Update, i haven't lifted the carpet but i think the Disco's floorpan is gone too, feeling awful dipped and soft where it meets the sill under the accelerator.... And apparently this Disco had sills and boot floor etc done in 2013......
