1991 Toyota Corolla 1.6 Automatic

MOT July 2019

Selling as I need a more economical car for child ferrying - doing 240 miles per weekend.

Solid bodywork, apart from a bodged repair to the front wing. Plenty of 'giffer scrapes' and faded / mismatched paint.
Alloys repainted black, as weren't the tidiest. Wouldn't take much to restore to original spec.
Mileage is 67,000 approx
Used regularly as is my only car.
All electric windows, doors, mirrors, sunroof.
Interior in good condition.
Fuel economy is ok for the age and gearbox, I'm getting 35-40 mpg

Issues / Potential Issues:-
Autochoke a bit - erm - not. Starts ok, just needs a bit of throttle for a minute and then just runs at a low idle.
Interior light / door sensors a bit sticky - may get this sorted.
Small squeak from brakes occasionally, but not excessive
Exhaust baffles loose, so sounds a bit funny sometimes.
Cassette player chews cassettes. Radio is fine.

Car is located Essex, SS9 5

For the sake of transparency, yes I am 'Pandamonium', (or Alan to most people). Nothing untoward, I just wanted a new username, and had made this account before I realized you could request a name change! D'oh. Never mind, you live and learn.

Now on ebay at £450 starting bid.

..... if I couldn't open my own bonnet and stare at that - I'd want one!

Did I mention reliable?

Automatic?

67,000 miles?

Yes? Oh well, no harm in being sure.

Roll up, roll up. Fund my quest for a Corsa B or a Micra... :D

Would it help if I took pictures of the sills etc?

Posted

Might help if you just removed all the pictures?

Is it that bad?

Bad time of year I couldn't sell the honda after knocking it down too a loss gd luck with the sale.

Theres a fellow over on TOC bemoaning the lack of Corolla GSi for sale (HML reckons 37)...

Not your model... Next one :(

The car looks great... My small fleet includes a Hilux and Hiace of similar vintage, so I know how good these were/are. You'll find the right buyer eventually, unfortunately I am:

A, not allowed any more cars/motorbikes/tractors/steam engines etc... whatsoever.... And

B, literally the other end of the country from you and your Toyota.

Otherwise, I'd be all over this like the proverbial. Again, glws/roffle.

Having just done 400 miles this weekend in this, averaging 38mpg and keeping up with even the big boys on the motorways, I have to report - well, nothing. It just does what it does. No fuss, no drama.

I've racked up nearly 3,500 miles in it in the relatively short time I've had it, and I worked out that in just over a month I've put it's previous annual average mileage on it.

Due to click over the 67,000 mark by next weekend.

Even as a AS noob, I can see that this must rank as a 'slow - burner' kind of roffle...

In the hopes that it does now take off (the new wheels could just do it!), please put me down for a trio of random numbers.  I'm not holding out too much hope... but despite the distance, and threatened marital strife, this car is haunting my dreams...

It seems my 90's Toyota fetish is only getting stronger, with good reason... my old Hilux Surf just passed it's test without advisory, while the supposedly reliable, hassle-free, modern(ish) Outback decided to throw yet more pretty coloured dashboard lights at me.

Cheers now, here's hoping you get it sold/roffled soon.

Every time I buy into a roffle, the car sells pretty quick, so I'll take number 38 please, hopefully that will help.

I don't need it.

I don't want it really.

It'll cost me a day's work and at least £100 to collect it.

I've got nowhere to keep it.

I'm skint, I can't really afford it.

I'm on a self administered roffle ban.

I'll take numbers 27 and 3 please.

ETA, Jesus, it's in fucking Essex!

Uh-oh I wanted 38 not 48, hope that didn't break the spell, my magic is real but it's weak.

Just testing you were paying attention ;)

I was! I'm just kind of hoping I don't win if it does roffle, Essex is a long way from mid Wales.

Should be good transport for someone, always liked these.

Put me down for a triplet of randoms.

Done, but you know this would only cost you a Skoda Favorit to buy ;)

I'm not ready to say goodbye to the Skoda yet! Which is a shame, as I'll have to if I win...

Don't worry, you'll be fed up of the Skoda long before this roffle sells out..
