ChinaTom, That isn't Jag's own prototype. The silver Sovereign is, but the one in the group pic is an external conversion by, I fancy, a German company. I just can't recall their name.

That 1950 Oldsmobile Futuramic 88 Sedan break diesel (Mercedes 250!) from Portugal is fantastic! :DEdit: it even contains the name of an autoshiter!

Toasted the engine a few weeks back. I had the banana shaped head skimmed, and its a runner again-albeit with a nasty rattle.

Small end or misadjusted tappet- only a few miles will tell.

If its the former-I've Fuego turbo lump in good order that should fit nicely.

Avon did the conversion for the Series III. Not so good imho - quite a few takers though. Conversion cost £6500 in 1981.

I've started fettling a rare estate for the road this week. About time considering I've had it for years and all it needs if four shocks, two exhaust silencers and some tail light bulbs :lol:
