A Sunday afternoon treat for you.

I was looking at pictures of Liverpool Central Station High Level and the second one was this picture. The photo itself is not dated.

Now the disclaimer: I offer you a chance to see this but it does not mean I have grown any fonder of 3 wheeled invalid carriages!

haha very cool thanks for sharing the picture I always appricate it :)

the Photo looked very familiar to me so I did a bit of sleuthing and indeed as I thought I had come across it before!

I hope this helps with the number plate of the football cars.

I had a hunch, waited for a corner and sure enough the cameras zoomed in!

It won't show up on the MOT checker if its last MOT was prior to about 2005/6.

ah Awesome many thanks :) I was hoping someone might have done a corner kick in or whatever its called where you kick the ball back into the field like that from the 1 of the corners, from the corner the Invacars where situated at :) (I just was not going to sit through an entire football match waiting for it)

MPH-P is a block im already aware of, in fact it was the first block I triangulated/figured out what chassis numbers it covered, to figure out the true registration of Q231PVL aka MPH759P :) which was the first previously Unknown Model 70 that I Identified and returned to its correct registration mark :)

HPU-H is interesting, because, checking my Invacar Mk12 chassis number list shows that I should have found the HPU-H block as in a while back I was specifically searching that range of registrations, and uncovered a load of Invacar Mk12 blocks, I don't even see a "oh I think theres a block here but none shown up"

however checking things, I realised why that is, as back then there where 4 the Unknown registration Invacar Mk12's I was trying to ID from their chassis numbers, and I had figured out their chassis numbers are just outside where I suspect the HPU-H block is hence why I never found it because I never went looking for it! (because I had the HEV-H block documented already and knew from that the the 4 Unknown Invacars would not be part of any Hxx-H registration block)

of course now I do know there is a block ill go through it now and hope I can find one that still shows up so I can see/confirm which chassis numbers it covers for future use and research :)

its amusing how HPU142H is being used as a camera platform of sorts!

it will show up in the MOT checker :) it just wont show any MOT history, the "incorrect MOT status?" is just because @keef copies the DVLA web page directly (and does not paste it in plain text)

here we go as I thought block is HPU101H-HPU200H, sadly only 1 still shows up HPU179H, but thankfully its chassis number looks to be correct, and has been added to the list :)

Don't blame me for info on DVLA site or how this site handles it. I don't have any problems copying and pasting to other sites e.g. Facebook. ;)

DVLA should really show "not required" or similar if vehicle is over 40 years old. ;)

it gives you the option to paste it plain text everytime you paste it in, I recommend you press that button :)

should make things a bit neater

too many variables at play for them  be able to do that, (like how is the DVLA checker supposed to know if a given vehicle has been substantially modified in the past 30 years?)

The option should be to paste in html or whatever it defaults to. I never use html in emails etc. It adds to length and only makes things pretty if it is correct, which it obviously isn't for this site. ;)

Has the owner filled in a V112? ;) Easy y/n data check.

Today marks XPD805's 65th birthday :) (XPD805 is the youngest known and youngest known surviving Stanley argson)

Argson_De_Luxe_invalid_carriage_(XPD_805)_1.jpg

rather coincidently  today I happened to have started to run all the Ministry Model 44 Stanley chassis numbers through my tool again, this time with a . between the letters part and the numbers part

as I documented throughout this thread for some reason some vehicles chassis numbers on the DVLA would end up with these errant dots and end up hiding themselves from my searches (for example I never found OPA813 because of its errant dot)

so I decided to finally re-run things with this dot included starting with the Argson chassis numbers (for example instead of A1 id search A.1) so far im up to the low 1300's and so far have found 1 extra, PPF291 from the low 600s :) only got 700 more chassis numbers to go to the end of ministry Model 44 production

(I was going to post about it once I had run all the stanley argson chassis numbers but when I realised it was also XPD's birthday I wanted to get a post out while that was still the case LOL)

thats every Ministry stanley Argson, Model 44 chassis number ran through my tool

again LOL

ran chassis numbers 1 to 2000, im not 100% sure where they ended, XPD805's chassis number is in the late 1800s , so production may have ended at 1900, or may have continued to 2000 im not sure

but nothing later then XPD805 shows up regardless sadly

along with PPF291 as above, I also found UPK682 a mid 1600's car funnily enough, but thats the only 2 extra I have been able to find with this re-search with the . in the mix, I had hoped to unearth more but im still happy I found something at all :)

(you could say 3 with OPA813 but I found that one via other means first and then discovered it had a pesky dot in its chassis number which hid it from my first search)

Posted

Did the same for all the Model 64 Mk5 chassis numbers, sadly did not uncover any new ones (there where only 200 AC Model 64 Mk5's made so I thought it would be rude not to :) )

always interesting looking up all these chassis numbers the amount of "false" positives you get, its amazing how many 1930s Excelsior motorbikes Morgan 3 wheelers, and Allards there are still LOL (,but these false positives do use up my credit annoyingly!)

in other news MPH759P's tax has been renewed, it expired early this month and despite me sending a gentle reminder to brian, it did not get renewed, so im glad it has been now :)

amusingly I think its the only Model 70 still in regular use atm!

I bet no one thought that would be the case when it first popped up!

I did receive a letter from DVLA the other day, so they are starting to deal with paperwork again, so if this was applied for in the post rather than online ........

ah interesting wonder if I will actually get REV's V5 back then? (and if you will finally get FKE467V's V5 as IIRC you also sent off to have its taxation class changed to historic vehicle right?)

I had wondered if my V5 had simply been lost into the ether as happens from time to time or if the DVLA had stopped processing such applications to the situation at hand

Posted

In reality I think they probably have been processing paperwork for a while, but at a much reduced rate, due to lack of staff.

Yes, I am awaiting a couple of logbooks which have been sent off by myself and the Post Office. Amusingly this latest letter was asking for one such V5 which is in DVLA's in-tray somewhere! ;)

Would like to attend a meet (if its socially distanceable) to see if someone wants to sell one!

I dont think any of us want to sell, we are all very much attached to our Model 70's and solitary Mk12! :)

but others do crop up for sale from time to time, dont know of any definitely for sale right now in the UK

depending how much of a project you want, RRE20L Might be for sale at some point not entirely sure whats happening that one sadly, and sadly its chassis is very sad from what I have been told, last I heard it was with someone in London, but said London peeps have expressed interest in one that is not so sad, so it might end up back with Frazer (where I fear it will end up getting broken for parts which would be a great shame seeing as its one of the very few Model 70's sold privately), and there's also a Model 70 (or  Model 67!) in Bush in pembrokeshire, would be very cool to see that one unearthed and saved :)

and theres even a Mk12 for sale in south africa and also a Model 70 for sale in the US but I have a feeling the museum selling it is going to want £LOL for it sadly

and theres also another Model 70 for sale in sweden but the guy wants something silly like €10K for it or swap it for some sort of sports car

(offer up the cheapest MGB you can find maybe? LOL)

I would not be surprised if they are operating on a first in first out basis there to get through the backlog, so it might take a little bit for yours to update,

but do keep an eye on it as it does look things are indeed happening now :)

I also took REV's V5 and a filled out V112 with me and after the lesson I popped into the post office and got her taxed and changed to the historic vehicle taxation class

the poor guy behind the counter was somewhat confused, im not sure he had dealt with such an application before, then got further confused because of REV's disabled tax class, meant options both came up as £0.00 so I had to tell "yep I know Its already £0 but id still like to change it please :) "

so hopefully that went according to plan! I have a receipt showing that i have "paid" for tax either way! and he took and stamped my V5 with a stamp

(I also took the opportunity to update some personal details on the V5 hopefully those also go through/dont confuse the DVLA too much!)
