Yep thats what is being suggested, guess Its what I should expect, tis the government after-all *more grumbling*

also most amusingly the letter recommends I go to my local Job centre for JSA

Well where the fuck do you think i came from!? Augh!

(For those not in the know, i was on JSA originally, but they realised I was too broken for them so they moved me onto ESA, I guess they just wanted to make me someone else's problem...)

That's not really a surprise, i know of a woman with serious back problems, she can walk with short distances sticks, has little to no feeling in her legs or arms, can't grip things, can't sit for any length of time, governments assessment of her was completely able bodied and fit for work.

I realise it's likely a cost cutting exercise, and fingers crossed most people will win their appeals, but it does seem a very unfair and stressful process.

so you probably saw the AC 3 wheeler I posted in the "cars you did not know existed" thread

well since then more information has come to light on them and its pretty Model 70 related so I think its worthy of a post here :) (plus I think there cool and this is my thread  )

1973 AC-Bristol Petite Coupe + 1974 AC Sociable Coupe f3q.jpg

from what iv been told they where a prototype City car developed following a government incentive in the 1960s/1970s to reduce congestion etc

its thought that they do indeed use the entire rear half of a Model 70 chassis complete with Steyr puch engine and CVT Transmission/gearbox :)

post-3924-0-23061700-1550833076.jpg

it would be interesting to hear how they handled compared to a Model 70, I wonder what front setup the 3 wheeler had, im guessing they would of also used the front suspension unit from a Model 70 there too

its interesting to note how the Red 4 wheeler comes back as having a 650cc engine, again raising the engine question I have on Model 70s

(I was right to think stuart might know about em, turns out there one of his research projects so to speak that he has been chasing over the past few years :) )

after reading vulgalours The Wedgister thread, I thought to myself I should compile a 1 post list of all known surviving Model 70s :)

so here we go, ill try sort by Plate/Age where i can, each car will probably be listed in a sort of ians bus stop history log style, manner :)

I know theres a few I have left out, but I have so few details on them its hard to include them in the list properly, im sure ill figure something out for the ones without regs etc feel free to let me know if I have missed any UK reg ones or made any obvious mistakes :)

I'm fascinated by those AC City and Town cars. Most odd. Quite a lot of the body seems to be Reliant Regal - the doors especially.

As for the list, Stuart reckons about 70 Model 70 survivors, so quite a few gaps to fill. I'm frankly terrified that TWC might be the earliest surviving Invacar!

indeed I find em thoroughly interesting :)

would love to know more especially given the possible Model 70 connection :)

Aye he mentioned theres 78 known Model 70s although I know that also includes things like the rolling chassis which iv not included in the above list just yet

but yeah im well aware that I have a few* more to sleuth up and document, but im not doing too bad so far am i? :)

(id also love to fill in all the unknowns of the cars in that my list too but sadly theres so little info out there, and I dont think you can even ask the DVLA about who is the registered keeper these days)

Thanks :)

took me a fair while to put it all together, and ill probably go over it once more and refine it some and lay down some statistics, once iv slept some!

(as my sleep cycle is currently FUBAR and iv been awake since like 8PM yesterday LOL)

sadly iv not come across many mk12s in my sleuthing sessions and those that I do find have no information with them (however admittedly my searches are usually Model 70 focused so I mostly come across Mk12s "by chance")

Interesting that there are approx 10% as many Mazda 323 Coupes as there are Invacars remaining!

theres 7.8 remaining? who has 0.8?

on a more serious note, iv heard that there are about 330 known surviving "invalid vehicles" overall of all types (although with eggs mk12 save I guess thats 331 known survivors now :) )

quite "scary" to think, an entire vehicle type where only 330 examples are known to exist exist

its like someone saying "yeah theres only 330 buses in existence"

(BTW as a side note I pretty much have also at least 1 picture of every Model 70 in my list so far, do yall think I should include a picture with each Model 70 listed or do you think it might make things a bit unwieldy? )

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but why do so many of them have Essex registrations?

if you notice its just the Invacar ones that have Essex regs, with the AC ones having Surrey regs

thats because all the Model 70s made for the DHSS where registered where they where built :)

I think that's Egg.

They're so small, the missing 0.2 is his nearside windscreen pillar and door!

Who is st185cs and why are they hoarding fucked invalid carriages? That's Trebus behaviour even by AS standards.

I belive st185cs was the chap who bought the baulk of invacars from the field of invacar dreams :)

sadly I dont know any more details, although I have read a couple where sold on to other owners (and from what I can gather the whole bundle was found via  ebay)

it is worth noting that invacars can look like hell but can clean up very well, see TWC as an example :)

UPB262M defo looks salvageable as does OVW445P. so hopefully we will see those return to the road if nothing else :)

the others could still yield useful parts, and still return to the road, see TPA621M as an example, its also worth noting, the body work comes apart in 3 sections, the front end the hard top and the back end, there all separate from each other, so if you have 2 Model 70s one with no front and one with no arse end or roof, you could mix n match body sections to make 1 good one :)

speaking of st185cs does remind me that MHJ22P exists and he is the one who owns it so have edited list accordingly  :)

Yes, the stash TWC was part of was discovered on Ebay. It was an appalling advert, with no real information at all, just a photo of one Invacar (TWC I think) and a one line description saying it was a job lot of 12 with a Buy It Now of £1200. A friend of mine went for a look and decided to have TWC and TPA, but then got cold feet, so I said I'd have them. I wish I'd been able to take more of them, but they were 260 miles away from my house. Not ideal! Also, the neighbours got grumpy enough about just two of them in the garden...

ah very cool! thanks for the info its nice to know more of the story at last :)

didn't realise you only ended up with TWC and TPA by chance after someone else got cold feet, how very different things could of gone!

I do wonder what st185cs plans to do with all his Model 70s, I know he said he is giving one of his bare rolling chassis that he got from Barry a nut n bolt restoration. I wonder how thats going :)

(I wonder how collected them all the field cars, im guessing some sort of car transporter lorry or did he just back n forth 12 times with a trailer   )

I'd be absolutely delighted if my neighbour turned up with two Invacars.

Your list appears to be missing Zel's original car, the one now with OlliD-E. Can't remember the reg but I'm sure it's KPL-something-P.
