Shiters To Be Banned From Glasgow...Smiles Better

The Dutch did not take kindly to the zone in Rotterdam. Formed a protest "club"

Did not seem to get them anywhere. Website

The next video shows this owner and his MGB. At one point making a comment about the pollution from the airport. He does not understand why nothing is being done about that.

Next video is about several car owners affected by the new zone. One man has converted his 2cv to electric at a cost of around 25000€ I do not know if that includes the 2000€ for the car either.

Some how shitters/classicers have to react to this suppression of our hobby. It is not as if we have guns and go around shooting everyone is it? But we are the devil that kills people. Sorry must go and write about his in "grumpy" thread!

Don't bother doing anything about congestion and air pollution then.

Oh please grow up, I suffered Asthma badly until about 20 years ago, most probably before you were out of short trousers, no problems since.....

You could fix Leeds air pollution by shooting all the first bus drivers. 99.927% of them drive like cunts.

The rules are: 1) Accelerator is full on or off. 2) if on you must keep it on until 10 milliseconds before last possible braking point 3) brakes must only be applied emergency stop style. 4) You must hate first with every fibre of your being and attempt to destroy the bus by aiming for every pothole. 5) bonus points for 10 deliveroo's killed in a week.

You can get on at a stop 50 yards from traffic lights that turn red as you get on. He'll then nail it until 5 yards from the still red light at which point it's full brakes. Or you're on Kirkstall Road near Cardigan fields where the average speed is <10mph and first bus drivers are all trying to average 40 despite it being solid traffic.

Flying tiger are a lot more relaxed and have a cooler name too.

Oh joy. Just heard from someone in our council that apparently it's being "considered" here too. No residential exemptions or anything, though "appropriate mitigation measures would be considered" for those unable to afford a newer car.

Even better... we're just within the zone they class as City Centre...so both the Lada and Xantia would have to go. Will be watching the council website very carefully over the next few months in case a report on the subject surfaces...

Any details on historic vehicles entering yon city limits & are foreign plated vehicles exempt? What gets me is these post 2005 modern cars with the crooked software pumping out clouds from multi- turbo so called eco crates when booting it over 2000rpm .

Possible exemption for historic vehicles was discussed in the Scot Gov consultation response last year. Apparently vehicles in the historic tax class will be exempt from the London ULEZ, so with a bit of luck the Scottish ones will follow suit (although it has to be said the current Scot Gov isn't known for its enthusiasm for UK-wide harmonisation...). Doesn't really help if your chod is less than 40 years old though...

Just, another reason to avoid the place for me.

Not that i need any more.

It's not just going to be Glasgow though - Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee are all planning LEZs by 2020 and other towns will no doubt want to get in on the act too.

Hirst had this link on his twitter

What a load of old shit. So Leeds wants this zone thing but it's OK drive what you want and just pay. What the fuck? How is this not just a tax?

Same as London innit - the ULEZ is just an increased daily charge for cars/light vans.
