Guest Conan
Accessory shite update. Ever since I've started driving, one of my shortcoming becomes pretty clear. I have terrible sense of direction. Despite this, I've been driving without any navigation system and I get lost all the time. Something clearly has to be done. After researching all the possible options. I finally got some navigation system I can use in my Corolla. It's got some pretty picture.Very simple to use.Even came with the latest map update! With updated shite. It even got aspirational on the back. Definitely will not be getting lost anymore with these! Guest Conan
Today on weird oriental shite. Isuzu Aska. It's closely related to Mk.2 Cavalier. A friend of mine owns one of these. This one. I still don't know why this shitheap car is still on the road. It crabs down the road, none of the panels are clean, the interior's pretty manky. I'm not joking when I said our yearly inspection is lax. Not surprisingly when another (this one) which appears to be in much better condition is up for sale at the right time, my friend snapped it up very quickly. The silver Aska will get dismantled and junked soon. As it should've been a long time ago. Some part swill be transferred over to the red one. And yes, the wheels will definitely get swapped. It's currently got Toyota 7A-FE 1.8-litre engine in it. The silver one got 4A-FE 1.6-litre. We never got the Charmant in this country but this is a great alternative. cms206
Phwoar!!! I always reckoned the Aska was the best looking of the J cars. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
The Moog
In Cambodia the MOT was just a cash payment. Didn't even bother looking at the car. That is a bit of alright though- happy to have CMS sloppy seconds cms206

Sir Snipes
So those Askas are essentially MK2 Cavs with Toyota 16v engines?
KruJoe
The Toyota lumps would have been retrofitted due to parts availability. I believe originally Askas (in Thailand) had Isuzu's own 1800 pez engine. They are VERY rare. Guest Conan
Phwoar!!! I always reckoned the Aska was the best looking of the J cars. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk We also got the Holden Camira and Daewoo Espero, but never the Cav. In Cambodia the MOT was just a cash payment. Didn't even bother looking at the car. That is a bit of alright though- happy to have CMS sloppy seconds It's the same here. I've personally seen a car went through MOT with indicators indicating the opposite side and no brake lights. It just drove a lap around the place and was deemed "Good enough" Makes me wonder why cars such as the red one haven't been tax and tested for a year. So those Askas are essentially MK2 Cavs with Toyota 16v engines? As KruJoe pointed out. The Toyota lumps would have been retrofitted due to parts availability. I believe originally Askas (in Thailand) had Isuzu's own 1800 pez engine. P1090690.JPG They are VERY rare. Here's one I spotted at Chiang Mai railway terminus: P1090691.JPG 1.8 or 2.0. Essentially the same unit as in the Isuzu Piazza but driven the front wheels. We never even got the Piazza so you can imagine the parts availability. Surprisingly enough these were popular enough that Isuzu set up a complete knock down assembly line locally (to circumvent import embargo). But most are gone by now. KruJoe
Rebadged 190 trims?"Like"They'd look even better if you put a more subtle "T" in the centre, rather than the TOYOTA across the middle. It's a 1989 car, right? I think that's the year they changed from the thorny "T" logo to the three ovals. Take your pick.Or not. Up to you! Only weirdos like us would notice.
Guest Conan
This car indeed wouldn't have the oval. But I'm afraid it doesn't have the T anywhere either. I'm trying to replicate the original wheel trim which would have TOYOTA plastered on. I'm thinking about doing all of this only because the brakes wouldn't fit over original 13 inches wheel.
