.....well, it depends what car I'm in.

 

The Mira has a fantastic tape deck, meaning I can rifle through my collection of "car driving" music for something suitably crap. Usually a load of Eastern-Bloc Italo Disco compilations. Or Foreigner. Or Michael Jackson. But to be honest I don't tend to have any music on whilst driving the Mira as the fruity 3 cylinder hum and turbo howl amuses me.

 

If I'm in the Charmant, I only have one frequency band and no tape deck to speak of, if I stay local I can get:

 

But if I go more than about 10 miles north or south, due to a crap Halfords aerial, I can then only get:

 

So if I come to meet you in the Charmant and I've had to come on the motorway, I'll be a bit flaky due to listening to the Punjabi Hit Squad for the duration.

 

However, the Galant has a fantastic radio, MW and LW! Aerial reception is amazing too, as it is done via the bootlid. Spent my last big journey listening to mad French music throughout. Bonkers!

I can only get Radio 4 on LW in the R30 - so, though I'm no fan of cricket, I've grown to love the commentary. That and 'Yesterday in Parliament', which LW listeners are treated to on the morning commute.Also means I get to catch 'Sorry I Haven't a Clue' and Count Arthur Strong in the evenings. Every cloud.

Often something Swedish or Norwegian... Bob Hund or Motorpsycho. No Means No or Blood Brothers when I have to hurry (almost never), and when I want to go slow Lambchop or Tindersticks.

My aerial snapped off, so the only stations I can get are Radios two and five. Which is fine, but for longer trips I've got one of those cassette adaptors for my iPod.

Never had you down as a 'TOG' MrP Radio 2 is certainly my choice, and I like most of the playlist.When not tuned into Radio 2, I listen to quite a variety of music, but mainly reggae, ska and jazz/funk. But as for a track to drive to, well an early Level 42 track 'Sandstorm' does it for me, with its fantastic bass line, its just perfect

I drove the CRX from the south of France a few years ago, and all the French stations sounded the same. Maybe Frenchmen say the same of all the British commercial stations? Debt consolidation jingles?Mr B, you became a native for a while, what was your take on the FM output?

And what is Belgium all about? Brussells FM, Euro 2 etc. Endless adverts for "Bink Bonk Bank", and something called "Schnickl Schnackl". And a double helping of phlegm with every sentence. Worse than the Scousers for that.

TBH, I keep it switched off until Wogan has shut up. All "breakfast" radio is the devils work. However I will often be found shouting the answers at "popmaster" when it's time for a cup of tea and a slice.

Arrow rock radio 675 am in the mazda and when i get bored of that i've got a little amp under the passenger seat that i can plug my mp3 into. Mp3 player contains a huge range of music to suit all moods.I also recent fitted a pye cassette deck in the mazda so on most journeys i have been listening to Faulty towers and dads army cassettes!

Not sure if anyone knows but you can get a cassette thingy that has a wire that attaches to your Mp3 , CD walkman iPhone etc. I got mine from the pound shop!!! So in spite of the Lada's primitive cassette player I can still listen to mp3s!!

I very rarely listen to the radio, particularly in the estate which is still in the early stages of my ownership, so I can keep an ear attuned to any unusual mechanical noises. But I make sure that I listen to Radio 2 on Saturday mornings - Jonathan Ross followed by Reeves & Mortimer's House Arrest - superb.I don't own an iPod (my wife has one, but it's full of girly songs like 'Dancing Queen', 'Careless Whisper' etc) and only have tape players in both Peugeots, so I'm a bit limited as I only managed to find two cassettes from the 'old days' still in my possession - Combat Rock by The Clash and some Hall & Oates compilation. So it's mainly 'Rock The Casbah' if I'm in the mood for some driving music.
