Just be careful they don't try and sting you with credit hire, be very aware of this as you could be liable for the (hugely inflated) hire car costs if the claim fails for any reason.

Bad luck but at least you're not damaged as well. The poor car lived longer with you than it would've with anyone else if that's a conciliation

@rainagain If it cheers you up a tiny bit, I have found the spare key for the Saab. Knew I had one, but could not find it. Today I was looking in the key drawer for another set, and there it was, though I have no idea how it got to be in the place it should be   I thought it was in the shed......

After the work put in that is gutting - but a massive positive that you were able to walk away relatively OK. Let it go - the SAAB will make sure you're looked after from now on I'm sure....
