heh, i hope you're not expecting me to do it. dollywobbler found it, i reckon he should buy it.

as for government grants, dya think the arts council would fund us? they give money to nearly anyone, if we described ourselves as a 'cultural and historical society tasked with the preservation and observation of non-significant automotive antiques' we might get lucky? We were going to apply last year to get my friends jazz-rock band on 'a tour of britain's planetariums' until we did some research and found out there are only about 3 big enough to hold a concert...(self-serving linky here: http://www.myspace.com/diagonalband)

If we can turn those numbers into pounds, we'd probably have enough to buy it! Send your donations now to TEH MAXI FUND, my house, my town.Ta

Barrett's idea is excellent. I hope the transfer of ownership is done properly each time - I love the idea of the number of previous owners reaching three digits and the DVLA investigating to see what's going on.

We could combat the crazy number of owners by making Autoshite a business and saying it's the company car.Although i do like the idea of 100+ owners being on the log bookMaybe we can break a world record ?

Top pic, Mr. Wobbler! Look closely, Rachel's "WTF???!!?" expression becomes quite clear...

Ah, thanks Peter. Do you think whoever bid that much thought "er, perhaps not!"

Could it be the pictures flatter it?

I think someone should ring George F White Estate Agents (I think that's right) and ask how much it is.

Lolz. I too would be willing to make a donation to 'part' buy this, providing we follow Barrett's proposal.

All well and good, but if/when google earth becomes 'live', it will be a piece of piss to track this Maxi down, given that the letters on the boot can be seen from space!

Barrett said -'cultural and historical society tasked with the preservation and observation of non-significant automotive antiques' we might get lucky? Antiques ? did someone mention ANTIQUES ?? :? I must send Tinker to investigate this M A X I !

Bladdy 'ell, I've actually got some shite spots! Sadly, it's a result of being healthy and getting out on the ol' pushbike, which fits nicely in the back of the BX.

This deserves a closer look...

Fortunately, my camera has a 20x zoom, so I didn't have to risk the wrath of the CCTV that allegedly protects the site.

Ultimate Mondeo Mk1 bumper fail? Pigeons clearly dislike this car

Then I went green laning in the BX. Did some in the 2CV yesterday too. This was a little more challenging in places. Adjustable ride height was useful!

Landy is potentially a HUNNY, lights-in-middle 109, yum yum. Diesel too.

That looks an interesting place, liking the Favorit. I'm actually quite fancying owning a reasoanble spec'd Fav Estate. Cheap, different and useful perhaps.

I went on holiday to Devon over a month ago and while in Lynmouth, I saw this and thought of you lot. Postcards from Devon. Weather nice. Want to kill relatives. Hope weather is crap where you are.

Wow! Looks like the boggo 1.4 or 1.6 standard model looking at those matt black bumpers.

Here's my old 1.4 poverty spec model that I owned 10 years ago after a jolly good clean and polish:

My 1.4 model had a big clock where the 1.6 model upwards had a rev counter. What I could never understand is why Fiat bothered to create an instrument pod with the clock when it was more expensive for Fiat to design and produce 2 types of instrument pods/thingies.

And these were a different design to the Tipo's analogue set-up just to complicate things. Why not just offer rev counters throughout the range?

Blimey DW! This shite is all right on my doorstep. I guess it is around the Little Downham / Coveney area.I don't know how long that escrot van has been sitting, but I know Richard j King - he used to be a customer of mine in a past job.Maybe I should do less diy and more shite spotting.Has anyone seen the garage in setchey near Kings Lynn with the old petrol pump and cars burried in the undergrowth ?keep meaning to stop on the way through.
