Xantia now sold! ☺

I still have this early Xantia TD for sale

I thought it was sold but it wasn't to be. I do wish he would have let me know though....

Tested til January, hardly done any miles since the last one.

Mint interior

No rust anywhere

Very tidy car

Needs a wheel bearing. Was only noisy after being stood a few months. Strange. Have another hub you can have.

140,000 miles. Mostly done in the first few years then 1,000 miles or so per year after.

Would possibly swap for something I could easily sell on.

I want this to go to a good home, its too good to be used and abused.

£300 as is or £400 with wheel bearing fixed and 12 months test

Car is in Ludlow, Shropshire. Could pick you up from either Kidderminster or Ludlow train stations.

I have various Xantia bits available too for extra dosh.

Faults? Some very minor dents. Turbo whistles, but not like a knackered one does, it sounds more like a blockage??? Clutch cable very high but clutch works fine. I'm told it has the wrong cable.

Had I not just bought one I would have been interested. And I’m an enthusiast who paid more than 50 quid lol

Jesus is this still for sale? Though this had been snapped up ages ago

Me too. Took a deposit, arranged a collection date then never heard from him again....

I'd get that on the Citroen Car Club Facebook page myself. Bound to tempt an enthusiast.

I gave a 405 away very cheap to an enthusiast. I could of broken it for way more but I thought it was a shame. He weighed it in a few months later when it failed an mot, so I'm not giving this one away.

Would you consider a swap for a Berlingo Multispace?

It's a red 2004 model, NI registration with 2.0hdi engine, modutop roof and 11 months MOT.

It also has dinks and scrapes on the body, 185k miles and one of the door runners is a bit buggered (needs a runner unit from a scrapper really) The clutch is a bit tired, but it does not slip. 3rdgear scynchro is a bit tired too, but not horrendous. Had it 3 years and it has been utterly reliable, just looks a little tatty.

They seem to make a bit north of £500 on the bay, but given how ill my daily driver is, I'd be looking to buy another car with that cash anyway, and this fits the bill rather well. I'd be using the xantia for work, but that mainly means longer motorway jaunts rather than schlepping around town. I'm also completely familiar with Citroen Hydraulics... had plenty of BX, CX, GS etc. Never a xantia before, but you get the idea I'm sure.

Where are you from? Berlingo would make a handy workhorse, I am currently without a van

I am down in west sussex, but would be happy to do the journey to ludlow and then back as my parents live up in that direction and I need to visit them soon.

I'll mull it over

If the clutch wasn't iffy I would definitely say yes

Let me know when you are thinking of coming up

I'm probably over-egging how knackered the clutch is as I don't ever want to be that person who says something is fine when it's not. The car in question has just brought 5 of us, plus a weeks luggage and a camping trailer down to the west country from sussex and has been absolutely fine. The clutch only slips if you provoke it like a twazzock. I'd expect to get another 30k or more out of if if driven "not like a tosser".

Nice to meet you and your family.

Sad to see the Xantia go but 'if you love her, let her go'

I still don't have any less cars though..
