This thread has been inspired* by the one on PH discussing the merits of a £170 toaster But this is Autoshite, where that sum should be sufficient to put you on the road so here is the challenge - what is the best car that you can find for £170 that is MOTed and can be driven a reasonable distance before FTPing. A virtual pint for the best answer, as decided by popular acclaim (other cars than Ford or Triumph are eligible of course )T

 

To start the ball rolling here is a Rover 75, with sufficient change left to buy one of Tesco's finest pop-ups

Funny enough my brother brought a Car last week that fit's the bill! A 2003 Fiat Seicento Sporting. Mot'd for 6 weeks and Taxed to get us home all for a £100. 

Could do with some tlc but is a fully working car and drives A1, if we had let the previous owner keep the tyres and sourced our own we could have had it for free.

There was a mk3 mondeo on gumtree last week near me, £170 decent mot and apparently ok but with a "high" clutch. Could* have been a great buy- a good all round banger for the money.
