LP's day out - a Scottish scrapyard

The engine cover might be there, some engine trim and parts were inside the car. I'll check next time.

Shirley keeping scrap cars on uncovered earth isn't legal anymore? I thought that (with the help of H&S worries about big piles of cars) is why places like this have died out?

A local u-pull-it near Bristol still has scrap cars on soil. Also I did find that they hadn't drained the ATF and the Aircon still had gas in a car I was pulling from. Don't ask to how I know! I thought all fluids and gases had to be evacuated before they were stacked.

Did you spot the wee Austin in the corner though? I'm told its the oldest car in the yard (which I previously thought was the T reg Mk1 Fiesta.

I'm not entirely sure they operate entirely within the realms of legality as they seem fine with folk climbing stacks of cars to get their own parts...

Yes I did see the Austin, not sure why I didn't take a pic.

It's a great scrapyard, so relaxed.

My local breaker has cars sat on the mud, it's probably so heavily polluted it's reached saturation point.
