Why, oh why, has nobody mentioned the Series 3 Jaguar XJ.

Classy, elegant, powerful, makes a wonderful sound and, as shown by Shaun of the Dead, capable of running over a multitude of zombies without a single blemish appearing on the bodywork. Go for the V12 to give yourself something to smile about in the post apocalyptic wasteland you would be inhabiting and forget about the naysayers and the phrase "fuel economy".

The elephant in the room is tyres - have you ever tried to change a tyre using only tyre levers and not the bead breaker machine in a tyre shop,

Did one once on a motorcycle (so not even that big and it  took hours and was borderline lethal, blood was leaking out of all sorts of places by the time I finished

Yes. It's okay if it has a reasonable sidewall depth.

So let me get this straight - a Renault Zoe would not be advisable?

When would a Renault Zoe ever be advisable?

Didn't Mr B change four this way on site, when picking up an Avenger?

They aren't as bad as you think, just put a plank of wood on the tyre then drive up it to break the bead.

Mini. Or, at a push, MGB.

You can always get parts for Minis and MGBs. I am sure that is also bound to be the case post apocalypse.

You have to think practically

So whoever knows how to change a tyre without a bead breaking machine will get rich?

Why do post apocalypse scenarios always grossly underestimate human ingenuity and resourcefulness?

Where would you buy petrol?

Buy?

You siphon it out of the nearest abandoned car. Or a petrol station tank. Or a refinery.

There will be petrol to drown you in post apocalypse.

Only to start with. After a few weeks all the petrol tanks will be drained so you will have to look elsewhere. Gearbox oil can be run in a diesel for instance. As can hydraulic oil, kerosene, chip fat and maybe the melted fat of pigs and obese humans.

It's easy if you run over them with another vehicle to break the bead!
