Just got back home after collecting my first ever Renault. I was a bit down about it the other day but it actually drives alright. It's probably the least exciting car to appear in this thread so far but Β£500 doesn't really buy much nowadays and it's a functional car with MOT.

I mentioned platina and it certainly has some;

Passenger window doesn't work and has clearly been held up with gaffer tape in the past but the drivers side window does function so it's drive thru approved.

Nice big load bay with some random pieces of trim.

It wouldn't be a cheap French car without some electrical gremlins..... The rev counter doesn't, the outside temp sensor thinks it's 49Β°C and the ABS light is on.

And finally probably the most interesting thing about it is the "legendary" credit card key.

Oooh nice buy! I loved my 2001 lag2. Felt like a modern car but everything was manual and trustworthy! Whole car was comfy and lovely to drive and it was only the clutch slave cylinder going that caused any issues

Yours a 1.9dci with a 6 speed manual?Β  The windows could be the regulators, their a known crap thing. The rear windows in both of mine ended their lives wedged shut with wood

Don't wash the key cards, they don't like it... πŸ˜‚

I am already conscious of how fragile the key cards are as it came with two and the other one is cracked. I am actually keeping the key in my wallet as it seems appropriate given the form factor.

It's a 1.8 16 valve petrol and five speed manual. Privilege spec whatever that means.

Already done one estatey thingΒ πŸ˜ƒ

I need to either find out the radio code or just rip it out and put a Mini Disc head unit in.

Oooh pez will make it even more reliable then, nice!

I took mine to shitefest Scotland and it was very comfortable indeed! I also saw 62mpg from the dash at 5.30am on the m4 doing very naughty speeds... In many ways I wish id got the clutch replaced and kept it but it needed the dmf and everything else doing and I couldn't afford/it wasn't worth it for the Β£150 I paid for the car from @ruffgeezer

Yeah rather than fixing the ZT I have taken the AS approach and just bought another car. I will fix the ZT once the Corrado is finished and then I will probably sell both the ZT and Laguna. I am missing some RWD action so will aim to get something German or Japanese and also have the Corrado as a fun FWD toy.
