HillmanImp
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6894297344002627039 A full hour and a half of rally cars getting mortaled, mainly 205's with people lifting off the accelerator and losing the back end. MrDuke
There's an ab-so-lute-ly MINT 205GTi about 400 yards from me, used daily by an old-ish lady [/unhelpful post]Frankly, I'd rather these cars got totalled while rallying than cubed or grass-tracked. At least they're genuinely going out in style, and it's not deliberate destruction.
seth
There's a section late ron in that video from Finland or somewhere of a tricky corner leading to numerous cars diving down the outside of the bend and rolling into a field leading to mostly total destruction. By the newer cars that do it I reckon its within say the last 5-10 years but there was obviously a historic element to the rally before so equally destroyed were the expected Escorts, plus a mint Amazon, 105E anglia, maybe something like a rear engined Simca/renault etc. Seemed such a waste and it was obviously the course due to the number of cars crashing (a couple of dozen I reckon) rather than the duff driving of one or two. hennabm
Not so much a GTI but a D plate diesel is still chugging with over 475k on the clock and no engine work.
