I've seen this method mentioned on various Vivaro groups, where seized injectors are a Big thing

At least youd know when it removed itself so you could pull over!

If someone helps me get it up to cannock/gets me home from cannock we could do that, although the prospect of a no sale does worry me a tad...

I need to see at least the £140 back that is my baseline for my man math to work though...

If it has MoT and drives to Cannock and all the dash lights are out then you are looking at £250 to £350 pounds on the hammer without any hassle, maybe more if you get a couple of idiots bidding.

I'd drive you home, no problem.

Has it got an engine cowl that's held on by reddish browny rubber things that locate onto prongs which stick up from the engine?

I will send you proper English money in exchange for as many of these as you have.

I'd love to, however I'd need to get it up there on a thursday, then back home, then back up on saturday, which would be a go-er bar I have no annual leave left to take thursday off and drive it there! If I did I'd stay up there and have a glorious ASMM weekend and await Saturday, I'd even clean and polish the shit out of it!

But I doubt it'll be that simple!

Barefoot - they don't look like you describe, I took some pictures just now, I'll wang them on your thread.

Got a few turns on the injector bolts, but alas it did nothing!

£145 if I drive it to asm 1/4 of a mile from my house!

Just do this, if any Renault nutters really want it/bits off it then they can pay you £120 or £145 or whatever and sort the rest out themselves.

Life’s too short.

No offence, but who would buy a used Renault Laguna interior?

Save your time for nicer things :-)

Apparently it's quite rare in its colour, but your right, it'll end up being more of a pain, plus probably cheaper to just buy the whole bloody car at scrap price and drive it away!

Its also filthy and I can't be arsed to clean it up for sale! Might have a stab at removing the handbrake control doodah though!

If it ends up scraped then so be it,it was just an offer my end,the interior colour was one of 3 options, black, beige and cream, cream being the rarest.

If you decide to remove the parts I want but leave it drivable to the scrapyard then I will buy those bits if you want a list, that would include the handbrake setup, let us know.

Posted

Feel free to send me a list and I'll see what I can do! Happy to grab small bits off

Posted

List Recieved! Providing I get time to have all that off it's fine, although if the wood trim on the dash doesnt come off in 2 bits it may have to be omitted due to box size, and I'll need guidance on how to remove some of said stuff.

If it's got Xenons, the power packs and bulbs have a fair value.

Don't ya think its weird driving a car that you know your going to scrap?... it knows!!! Somehow...

I was thinking it on the way home actually! Partly like a weight had been lifted, if it shits itself now I won't be as sad! (Although I know what it's being replaced with so won't get too cocky) but also partly sad as what if it had gone to someone else and been loved? Sadly it needs too much now to bother with, and even if I'd replaced the rear bushes, new discs and pads all round, a good service, rocker/manifold gasket etc, it would still be blowing an injector, and the gearbox would still be needing a service if it's not too late already at 140k...

Ive got half a tank to last until next Friday, I plan on hooning the utter fuck out of it home next Friday as one last hurrah!

Right, plans are progressing!

New car is found

Collection on Saturday

It's £4 less a month to insure (and will be insured as of saturday)

Taxed to get me home

I have a spreadsheet of bits to take off the blue laguna

WCPGW!

Amy's already moaned about why do I need a new car, it's not staying out on the road for ages, why can't I just scrap it etc...

Unfortunately dear, I have a plan, which is already in motion. Borrowing money from my newly opened bank account fee free overdraft for this, and according to my correct sums, when all is done and dusted I shall be in profit by a few pounds. Just sending it as is for scrap will mean a loss of about £70, and I want to prove to myself that I can borrow money from myself and pay it/most of it back before christmas. Will involve walking to the bank with some cash here and there though.

Lagunas always know their fate

It’s probably just thankful it’s not had more time of the Scottish arsehole driving it flat out constantly with no water in :D

It's had many months of a peterborough arsehole driving it not flat out but still having no water in it... It's only doing 36mpg too despite driving it carefully so I don't blow an injector out or something!

It knows something is up though, I topped the water up last week and this week it's been getting almost to temperature fine and almost holding it there too, with warm heaters. Too late now though car!

New car is also a tenner a month less to tax too, so £15 cashback per month already

Sad it’s being fragged - did me really fucking well that car and I’m glad you got as much use out of it as you did

Glad to hear it's going, I hate those excuses for cars.
