PM sent!!!

I will buy it as it stands no issues, just get it to me and its sold.......

Price to be discussed!

Just replied to your pm, I won't be able to get it down to you this year, I have one free weekend, which is hopefully going to work well to collect the new steed.

Ill happily keep it taxed and insured if you wanted to get a train up, or if anyone's heading your way sans car can grab it and waft down though!

So I had a better look at lunchtime.

Took the main cover off, and the one that covers the injection pipes at the back. Peering down past the injector showed oil. Lots of oil...

Fired it up, and the 2nd one started chuffing. But it took a few minutes for the engine to start vibrating in rhythm before the oil started dancing.

So, in theory,

4 of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Master-Injector-Seal-kit-7701474025/192203731752?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D3bc78ee1152f4e5fa6f64f91ac9bd729%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D130382966308&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042 (whats the big chap for?)

and 1 of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROCKER-CAM-COVER-GASKET-SET-FITS-MASTER-ESPACE-TRAFIC-LAGUNA-2-2-2-5-DCi-G9U-G9T/130382966308?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

might do the trick.

Providing the injectors move! It's a shame the 2nd one has a blow as the rocker cover comes off around them with the pipework removed it seems!

Wonder if all this will cure it's sluggishness over the last few months?

I'll try and get the injectors to move first. New bolts, where might I get those from? Otherwise I'll re-use them, and possibly purchase a torque wrench capable of 6nm, unless anyone knows what 6nm is on the grunt scale?

I have a wrench that will do 6nm. Where are you?

I heard all the horror stories about injectors when reading up on removing the injectors from my 1.9dci.

They all undid and came out without a fight so you have a chance.

If they are caked in hard black carbon, then white spirit poured onto it will break it down and remove it.

I would be inclined to unbolt one of the clamps and give the injector a wiggle back and forth and see.

I'm going to take tools to work tomorrow and see about nipping the injectors up a bit, if they move

Tbh all of you telling me to give it a go is lovely, but I'm a bit set on a new car now... Plans are afoot. If anyone wants to give me £120 for the gooner then feel free! I know I got it for free, but the new car isn't free, and I need to recoup some of the money.

But otherwise it will have a few bits taken off, and go to the big scrap yard in the sky, and I won't shed many tears for it...

I know it's the cowards way out, but whilst I'd give it a go, I don't have time sadly, nor too much money to keep trying bits, and especially after hearing how other people's 2.2dci's self combusted after changing the battery and stuff, I'm not game for that.

Unless I find a massive briefcase full of money in a hedge. Then I'd throw a good few hundred quid at it...

Does anyone fancy collecting this for me? its about 140 miles each way and I live right near the seaside! in Devon, will of course pay delivery charge....

Honestly, if you have something suitable you can afford lined up then 100% bin.

The moons would have to be in perfect alignment for the injector seal job to go well and not end up with engine destruction or further costs.

I would be trying to get it to 25v6turbo, but a metals yard would probably be equally appropriate.

And I'd keep it taxed and insured for maximum ease. I just don't have the time sadly

It would provide plenty of spares for my V6,same year, same colour and mine is an estate just need to get it to me,bolted up my end with time and no hols left.

Posted

I can't keep it here, as it would have to sit on the road. Can't break it for spares like I did with the puma either so unless you want any small bits and bobs, it needs to be drive able the mile to the scrap yard and onto the bridge

Could the resident trade plater who's name I got wrong last time (sorry) work it into a route some how or save a night away

Posted

Best I can offer is £120 plus someones drink/trainfare to get home,it would be ideal for me and provide lots of useful bits but I need someone to kindly deliver it,can be very flexable with dates and times.

I'll take £120 for the car if it goes to you. Just need to get it to you now!

Lord Sterling.

I don't think he gets down that way too often though.

1.9 dci injectors are usually easy - and bugger all shifts the Black Death round injectors let alone white spirit . It's a labourious chip away job

Well if anyone can get this to me,cheap then I will have it,looking at the map its about 150 miles away my nearest train station is Axminster,Devon.then again that is 150 miles in a Laguna with a few common issues......

Posted

Tbh, itll do that trip no problem. Just don't do anything electrical without the engine running! Like get in, turn the engine on then shut the door and do whatever!

Can pick you up from train stations, Haddenham & thame, or Maidenhead, don't know where you will come in from though

Just squash it, £151 via remove my car (in Glos anyway) and that’s including collection

Take off the handbrake computer first and sell that separately.

They sell for reasonable amounts, easily accessed and removed:

As its auto, its reasonably safe* to drive it to a scrappy like that too.

Blimey will do! Any tips to get the cable that goes up the car off? Any other small bits I can remove and ebay but still keep the thing driveable? Don't mind having a box of bits in the shed, but I can't have the interior out and on ebay (which is a shame as that's probably some coin)

Remove interior apart from drivers' seat.

Take appropriate removal tool to scrappy.

Extract seat when HIAB faerie looms.

Enjoy crisp tenners with a refreshing beverage.

Fart in the key of C.

It's where to put it though. When I broke my Puma I had use of a garage. No room in my tiny shed for it. Plus TBH it's not mint, although will clean up OK. Will see what happens!

Unobtanium sensors and motors etc, don't mind grabbing those

You know some dick head with a Volvo estate.

I'll check the manual later. I suspect it unclips.

It'll be a useful part to not only other Laguna II ph2 fans on here, I suspect it's pretty much identical (apart from coding) to a Vel Satis one too.

Can't you remove the injector by just unbolting it and driving it or would it fly through the bonnet?

I've seen this method mentioned on various Vivaro groups, where seized injectors are a Big thing
