beko1987 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Possibly, would it take a fuse piggyback?
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 I bought a centre console trim to get the cup holder. However, it's plastic welded in, so needs work. So I just fitted the whole thing I quite like the black. New hazard switch too privatewire, oldcars and Kiltox 3
oldcars Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Why do you have an opened block of lard in the footwell?
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 That's part of the foam that sits around the gear shifter. It fouled the deep cup holder, so I tore it out! oldcars and Hendry 2
beko1987 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 I quite like the beige. But the black provides some nice change to the sea of beige. Plus the smooth insert bit is in better order than the beige one. Already hopefully offloaded the joystick on someone from the gooner Facebook group!
Hendry Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I like the black, it's a nice constrast. My cars the opposite, a sea of black/anthracite everywhere, hides the dirt better though! Still think an OEM Renault head unit would look a million times better though, even just a plain CD player unit from a Dynamique or something.

Just need to find a decent permanent live...

Really not worth it on a 130k 2.2 DCI!

beko1987 Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Hi Kiltox Thanks for lending me your car for 2 weeks. I have decided I love it so much I've taxed it and sent the v5 off today... Love Beko! oldcars 1
beko1987 Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Complete idiot question, but I want to top the oil up, but the dipstick has no markings (and no oil on it)... Where should oil sit when it's at the correct level?
Kiltox Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Looks broken to me - not uncommon for plastic ones to break. Swear it used to be longer.
beko1987 Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Ah. That's annoying then... The display says the level is fine, might slop a pint in for good luck and leave it then, don't fancy having the sump off to fish it out
SiC Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Tap the stalk end when it's saying oil ok to get the oil level remember.
beko1987 Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 That says it's fine! I did want to do an oil change on it though, that's going to be tricky with no dipstick! But, I'm 8n bristol tonight. I can see why these are ace at wafting up and down the country, sat with the cruise control at 85 was effortless. In an airbnb now, in bed chilling out ready to drive down to somerset tomorrow!
Hendry Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Shouldn't be too tricky to fish the rest of the dipstick out, from memory they are massively long on Renaults.
beko1987 Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 I'm hoping the tube unbolts or something, but I need to be super sure before dumping the oil out. Will get another dipstick ordered up in readiness. Other wise its a sump drop and that sounds like alot of effort...
Noel Tidybeard Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 there should be 2 bumps on each side for max and min
Guest Hooli Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Only renault could make a simple plastic dipstick that doesn't work! Mind you having said that I seem to remember early S/V40s had a recall because the dipstick was the wrong length... As for an oil change, I'd find out how much is the suggested amount for it & put in 250ml less. Then check on the dash & top up to suit. beko1987 and Timewaster 2
twosmoke300 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Vw group dipsticks and dipstick tubes break for fun too .
beko1987 Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 3 fat blokes, 18 hoovers and other tools etc! Was a slow wafty ride back! Ace day paulscavalier and Junkman 2
beko1987 Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 Bought! It's been an expensive day! But fun
