I actually find that small French car seats, whilst superficially comfortable, don't tend to be particularly great for dodgy backs.

Thanks for the advice chaps, the R8 Rover is tempting, but I've been stung with a nasty MG/Rover ZS diesel that use to dismantle itself on every journey. Had a couple of Renault 19s in the past but never tried an auto, they seem to be just about extinct now.

 

I did wonder about a Toyota Starlet.
