Rover Streetwise why so expensive?

Prices are strong at the moment - been looking for a decent one since early december. Even ones advertised at over a grand needed work doing on paint or trim. Had one before and a 25 TD and love the things but have gave up and bought something else this week. Rover no longer exists and odd people think this means the cars are worth big money these days.

I had a 1.4 Streetwise and loved it. It was very scruffy due the previous owner parking by Braille.

I'd have a diesel one in a heartbeat for daily duties.

I still have the ex ruffgeezer streetrover. Unfortunately it suffered from OMGHGF shortly after a new clutch. Now the test has expired. Anyone want it? It's actually a clean thing having had much love, but the reality is the bridge probably beckons.....

Sunny Stone (Staffs) although I'm sure Sir Bo11ox has better things to do, it would suit a man if his skill level perfectly......

My Hyundai Stellar reg. is E***BRM.  I don't think painting it's snout orange would fool anyone into thinking it had a V16 or H16 (mainly because the Stellar is reliable).  I'd happily take the blood curdling sound though  :-D.  Sticking homage for a gas turbine powered technology demonstrator on a Rover 200 did not seem terribly convincing to me at the time.

Way back in the day when I worked for my pop, one of our suppliers was a guy that owned a printing company (been trying to remember his name all night to no avail) and I remember him turning up at the factory once in a brand new BRM, and it was feckin gorgeous. Always fancied once since then.

If a Streetwise is too pricey for you, travel by bus. They are pretty much worthless

Always liked these and bought a great little Streetwise 1.4 for only a few hundred quid. It looked great in my eyes and drove really well, no problems and cheap to run. However my teenage son refused to been seen in it anywhere near his school and rolled his eyes so much when I suggested we take the Streetwise that I sold it in the end. I still miss that car......sniff.

When my children are big enough to be embarrassed about things, I will definitely be driving the worst shonk imaginable on purpose.

How else can you encourage them to become independent people and get the bus?

Weirdly my daughter seems to like me turning up in cranky old grids to take/collect her from school, in amongst all the white Merc/Audi/BMWs with illegally spaced number plates.  She's not a teenager yet though.

My eldest loved the red Mondeo, my dad had at the time an Insignia as well, whenever they look her out she always wanted to go out in the old one. When we passed it to AMC Rebel, I told her it had gone to live with a new family, she was distraught that it couldn't come and live at our house. My wife explained to her in very strident terms this wasn't going to happen...
