12.5 seconds if I recall correctly.  I seem to remember it was faster than a BMW 520i, which was important as an eight year old.

Your Gumtree competition is a Vanden Plas with the talking dash in York - albeit at twice the price.

This is great. I was well up for it a while back but now have two other shitters clogging up the drive

Really? That seems surprisingly brisk.

Probably because it is quite light compared to a modern car of similar size. Plus the A series was a decent little unit

You made me doubt myself and look it up, but I CAN still remember numbers after 24 years!

I've posted before of my father's tales of throwing his round roundabouts at thirty with all four wheels drifting - when the suspension was new!  I'd love a go of one, but £$, space, and the fact it's just too far south mean sadly ahm oot.

Edited to add: this new means it'll have the revised head with hardened valves for newfangled green fuel.  BONUS.

My dad had one for 10 days. Then some twat punted it up the arse & pushed it into a ditch, cue three months arguing with an insurance company that it might have just been worth what was paid for it 10 days earlier!

He replaced it with a Montego Countryman.

Could be the cheapest way to get into Maestro ownership, as they will no doubt become more expensive in the future due to the recent Practical Classics feature

I have a set of alloys suitable for this, they are the wire wheel type spoke design and have been refurbed pro-fesh-unally.

Said pro-feshunal still has them as I can't be arsed to go to York to collect them.

If the winner of this undoubtedly fine conveyance requires such a set of wheel trinkets they can be had for what they cost me to buy and refurb.

Or I'll stick them on mOngbay instead.

I had a clubman back in the day, took me nearly 9 hours to get from York to Plymouth, I was driving like a totally giffer though!
