MOT History?

I know you can still check the MOT history of a car online but the new system doesn't provide you with the test station name and contact number like the old history site used to, is there any way of finding out online who's carries out the MOTs on a car using info from the new system, like via the test certificate number or anything?

Can you pay for a duplicate certificate from your local place? Would that have the number of the original tester on it?

Online PDF duplicates for a tenner? I did one for someone here for free. Any tester can do it.

I thought the MOT history was only recorded from when they went "on line" so stuff done in the 1980's and early 1990's wont show up

Yah, MOT's where only computerised/recorded onto an online database that we can see today, starting in late 2005 (and 2017 for NI)

As a random one my van is MOT and Tax exempt, had to send off the proof of build date from ford for the change to historic, I expected theย  new V5 to come back endorsed with a declared date of manufacture in the notes but it hasn't .

Last MOT on my van expired a year or so ago but

One of my bikes hasn't been MOTd since the early 90s comes up as follows.

If you have the V5 serial number you can find the test center name. Gives you a host of information.ย
