Love the toledo. It's looks doesn't give anything away. Happy ferrying Doris and Bill to church and aldi as it is upsetting the sales reps

Yeah. It is a bit of an undercover mother. Doesnt even say Turbo on the back like most bragmobiles.

It's always a slippery slope with turbocharged cars... Have you started looking for a KO4 kit, yet ?

Posted

I have no idea what K04 kit is. It sound like a scientific name for some kind of poison gas. One of the monoxides probably.

It's a slightly larger turbo that, along with higher flow injectors and new ECU software, allows a nice power hike to 200ish HP.

GR8 4 losing your licence.

Ah right fella, cheers.

180bhp is 3x trebble 20 enough power for my sphincter and testicle size.

I like going fast but not too fast.

Safety first, safety second.

Ah, a 180hp 1.8T. They can remap to 210hp nicely.

Well jell of the car though. That's proper sleeper material, that is. It's even a giffer-spec colour!

At least its a colour dude. Suicide Silver or Taxi White would be far more intensively grim.

Yeah, it's a smart car. I'd foreseen keeping it for a long time, but mrs_l1 was forever complaining of carsickness in the back and the ls400 only drinks a little bit more and is cheaper to tax.

Not sure how long smoll car will stick around mind, it's good fun but a bit smoll even with only a smoll baby in.

Even my intensely boring Volvo has a T on the back BECAUSE IT'S A TURBO DON'T YOU KNOW?

Turn of the century prestigious award winner. Tow jobs no problem. Very pull caravans. Nice colour. Best plaudits.

Toledos crept on to my radar recently too. Mostly because I am POOR and n/a petrols are CHEAP.

For the first 6 months or so of its life it was a police car, there was some aftermarket wiring in the engine bay for the radio and the inside of the glovebox was cut out for radio to fit, i duck taped it up though as i kept losing my Werthers originals down the back.

Howay five o.

Freeze, fuckballs! Are you feeling lucky? This is a Seat Toledo caravan club tow car of the year 2000 so you have to axe yourself one question. Are you feeling quick?

Well punk. Are ya?

It actually should have a 'T' badge on the back. Right after the '20V' but some halfwit nicked the badge whilst I was working in Accrington and I never bothered replacing it.

Anyway, mega car this. Only reason I sold it was that after eight years and 80k I was ready for a change. Thing is, I should really have kept it as I haven't managed to replace it with anything that I like as much and that does the job so well. Quick, unassuming, comfy and reasonable economy plus massive boot. Fast saloons that just look like something ordinary is where its at as far as I'm concerned and I can't find anything similar.

Triglesworth is right - Its first six - twelve months were spent with the police somewhere up near Inverness. Thats also why the o/s/f wing and bonnet is a slightly different colour as it interfaced with a large woodland creature late one evening. From there it went off to one of the staff at Associated British Ports as a long term rental before ending up with me. I bought it very cheap at two and a half years old.

When will the raffle take place then. I want some numbers.

I pity the fool who stoops low enough to steal a T badge.

Took the Toledo for a run round this morning since the wind storms of doom had quietened down a bit.

Stopped off at a couple of auld garages. Both shut. Both still occasionaly open though.

Also did some internal fannying. There was no head in the headhole but Loserone had kindly provided a nice one to go in. I got the butterknives out and wrestled the old cage free and jiggled the new cage in. Now we have some soothing Radio 4 banter dancing out of one speaker. Must investigate the other three at some point. Mono will do for now however. Maybe Ill get lucky and go deaf in my left ear and not have to bother.

The dash cup holder was jammed all the way in at handover so as I was armed with a pair of butterknives anyway, I thought I'd have a go at employing guile and leverage on the cheeky fucker.

Guile and leverage plus butterknife 1 - 0 Cup holder.

Gawd knows why it doesnt pop out spring loaded as is should and to be absolutely frank, not even god cares. Rather than spend precious time or even more precious money investingating, repairing or replacing, I stole a strip of Velcro out of the missus's's sewing box and wrapped it around the folding cup bottom stabalizing arm .

Now we have a fully functioning sliding cup holder with bespoke pull tab.

Ah yes - i had a bit of duct tape doing that, but it was obviously valeted out..

Any chance the cage could be kept aside for me? Still have the headunit it fits :)

Posted

Yup. I saved it as like everything else, it was bound to come in handy at some point.

Ta :)

Sure we'll bump into each other again sooner or later. Pleased you're enjoying the turbo!

The cup holder was full of coke, as was the original radio, the speakers were shit though, they had blown but i replaced the passenger door one which got them working again but they still weren't right.
