Guest Hooli Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 My phone app is called 'Renault Radio Code Generator' by jmt products. I'm sure google will find instructions for which code. Kiltox 1
SiC Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I think the satnav on these is a bit more than what a radio code generator can generate.
Guest Hooli Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Pffft, who needs sat-nav? the AA truck will have it's own. Slartibartfast, The Moog, Sheefag and 9 others 12
Kiltox Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 I'm going to fit the OEM Cabasse head unit this weekend and see what happens

Kiltox Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 Anyone got any Autoshite tips for cleaning leather seats? Ones in this aren't too bad but just a bit grubby as you'd expect from beige.
beko1987 Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Cif but lightly. Or kitchen spray, but them apply some leather feed
Kiltox Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Looks like sat nav in this is a no go - the amplifier unit is missing and what I thought was the original head unit isn't
Mr_Bo11ox Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Yo Kiltox, I fetched my Gooner bush tool from the garage t'other day, if you need it gis a shout! Kiltox 1
Kiltox Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Yo Kiltox, I fetched my Gooner bush tool from the garage t'other day, if you need it gis a shout!Muchos gracias senor testes - they're not as bad as I expected though so I might hold off for a couple of months!
Kiltox Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Someone talk to me about drains on these - noticed earlier when I opened the tailgate a shit load of water run out of it so I assume something is blocked somewhere
vaughant Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Olive oil and good quality kitchen paper like Regina for leather, amazing how much crap comes out with it 😷😷😷😷The oil feeds it nicely then. Or pound shop leather wipes, pretty good stuff.
DeeJay Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Lux soap flakes, (pure soap, no detergents) and a soft toothbrush. Pete-M 1
SiC Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Looks like sat nav in this is a no go - the amplifier unit is missing and what I thought was the original head unit isn't That'd wierd that someones removed it. Afaik there are 5 main bits to the system. Display, controls in centre, CD player, DVD player in cubbyhole and amp unit thing in the glovebox behind the trim.
Kiltox Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 So I still have the display, controls and DVD unit. Missing amp and CD player. Guessing I'm short a bit of wiring loom too.
Kiltox Posted November 26, 2016 Author Posted November 26, 2016 Think I'll remove the controls and fit a cup holder. Can't spend a lot on this one because it's not the engine I'd want to put any effort into
sierraman Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 If I'm honest I'd put my time into making sure the EGR is free and the supply to the turbo is good as this is what kills them.
sierraman Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Yeah the EGR seizes and causes mayhem with everything! Saying all that I'm going to fuck about changing the dash bulbs later
Dirk Diggler Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Didn't know where else to put this; there's a 2006 3.0 v6 estate on UK plates for sale for a few hundred quid on adverts.ie at the moment; useless over here (1500 a year tax, and probably 1500-2000 to rereg it as Irish) thought it may tickle somebody's fancy Edited to add €450 http://www.adverts.ie/car/renault/laguna/2006-renault-laguna/10854918 SiC 1
Kiltox Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 Drove this again tonight after it sitting outside in the cold for days and it had a quite hilarious* failure to... be a car Drivers door wouldn't close until I fucked around with the latch with de-icer and opening/closing it a few times!

Kiltox Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 Oh and NEWSFLASH - all four electric windows work!!! Lacquer Peel, DeeJay and Dirk Diggler 3
Kiltox Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Urgh. The Laguna is strong in this one Neither the tailgate or the split opening window thing work. They did, then stopped in the frost and came back, now don't at all. Blocked roof drains are very suspect all round because I think I have water ingress into the cabin judging by how steamed up it gets HID headlights aim themselves too low and are meant to be auto adjusting AFAIK Takes forever to get to operating temperature - I know it's a big old lump of diesel arse but I'm guessing the thermostat has seen better days Not getting the sat nav etc to work has taken the wind out of my sails a bit on this one - I just want it to work enough rather than be perfect*
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I drove my Gooner out into the wilds of Northumberland today, bloody lovely Coprolalia, Lacquer Peel, Kiltox and 4 others 7
The Moog Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Did you leave your details and ETA with a friend in case of emergencies beko1987, Fat_Pirate and DeeJay 3
25v6turbo Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 The tailgate/glass not opening is the glass button screwed, they rust up when full of water, remove it and clean, dry it out then it should be OK until you get a spare, the tailgate thinks the glass is open so it wont allow you to open the actual tailgate as you can,t open both separately when they work correctly,it one or the other!Remove the wiper arms and the scuttle and pull the stupid rubber flaps of the side of the scuttle panel and clean through, the peel back the rear of the front inner shit shields, remove the rubber bungs at the end of the sunroof drain tubes and snip the actual tubes back a tad to get them nice and clear, also scoop all the mud and crap from the lower inner wings and clean front wing lower drains,The rear drains are tucked up behing the rare archs but rarely block.Headlamps will be a seized or broken height adjusters, which are on the lower front arms and rear axle, often the stupid plastic arm just breaks from the ball joints.Sat nav I have the complete setup from a 51 V6 Initiale I just broke but its not the same as later facelift cars, which I have an 05 plate V6 Initiale sports tourer, but I broke one for spares and over 20 years with Renault taught me a few things....Actually I must have a first a Laguna 2 that has EVERYTHING working, yes everything as it should, wont be long though I guess...The tailgate water is interesting,if you look the tailgate has it own drain tubes that come from under the glass(when you get the window open)in the middle and actually exit either side of the numberplate lights, you will see the circles,it also has one on the tailgate side aswell, the lower rear tailgate trim holds water until you open it and it pours out, your engine is a G9T engine, don,t over fill it with oil as it will go bang just like a 1.9 F9Q lump SiC and Kiltox 2
Kiltox Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Guess I'm climbing in the back of the fucking thing tomorrow then - I assume I'll be able to unlatch the tailgate using a screwdriver
25v6turbo Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Just gently pop the window glass switch out and dry it out, should work.
Kiltox Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Ah right, it can be removed without the tailgate open then. Number plate light on that side isn't working either so I'll sort that out too
