Due to muchos generosity my TEH MOOG I availed myself of the sportscar Megane.

This here is a wee thread for it in all its BTCCesque glory!

First up some pictures of the stunning livery and track prepped interior:)

Did the Toledo go round the track?

I would still there if it did, Crail was enough ridicule for the poor car!

Wonder if my old Clio springs would fit on the front of this?

Interesting thought but tbh its on more need of a zorst and an ABS Sensor..

I thought that's what I wrote?;)

After its sterling performance on track (24 or so laps prior to the track day being cancelled) Where it still did 18mpg according to the obc;) I thought I had best show it some attention..

So it got a bit of a clean out, the rear seats and boot reconstructed and I even went as far as finding treasures* (if either prev owner wants the stuff let me know!)

Lastly I marvelled at 2 exquisite design features..

Rear window switches behind the handbrake, and the world's shortest dipstick.

Then she was tucked up with her younger sister for the evening.

Good man. Mine goes well even for a 1.4 so The wan-six must be even better.

Is that a challenge tae a drag race?

156K, likely original clutch, it would not end well for me....

I shall take that as a YES!

In related news, after the Vectra departed, the Megane is going to be doing daily duties for the rest of this week..

Moving it into the street tonight,I can confirm it makes a most glorious bark when it hits the limiter:)

Posted

Will do 40 mpg on a run which isn't bad.

PAH! it'll also do OMG MPH on the sliproad on the way to work:)

You found it then!

Will do 40 mpg on a run which isn't bad.

Unfortunately not while hitting the rev limiter!

These 1.6 16v engines are remarkably sprightly - I had one in a megane coupe and it went rather well.

Unfortunately the rest of it was really shit and it ended up over the bridge

Yup thats my road map, had it over 25 years and used it for all our family holidays, pm me your paypal and let me know how much to return it, It does have sentimental value. Thanks by the way.

I have had 49 MPG out of My Nibblet, she never let me down and believe it or not the abs sensor is only 12 months or so old, apparantly if you go through puddles the rain water corrodes the sensor ring so if you clean it the problem goes away, so I was told at the garage.

Mr Touring, found the rear headrests for the Racecar*.

Do you want them?

Sounds like might be an easy fix then for abs.

Baby driver can you send me your address please?

I'm wanting to get the atlas posted to you!

Also trying to work out what to do with this

Take it to Knockhill on Sunday! I want some victims company!

Posted

I don't think Sunday will occur due to possibility of weather allowing chance to get Clio 172 exhaust work done
