Yep. Got 15k g.i.t,5j trailer load cover and strangely it's 30+ quid a month cheaper than kia

Jesus I didn't realise that was so bad! Glad you caught it in time. Used to the brakes yet?

Posted

Yeah I always felt like oh shit that car in front is slowing down push brake pedal erm not stopping, push harder, still nothing, STOP. And repeat on each journey! Great little van though.

Brakes didn't work on the one I used to drive either, I think it's a feature.

So tonight this happened. If any of you are on Facebook please find my page and share it.

Well it's gone from around 71800 miles to this in around 6 weeks. Low mileage by my standards!

A spot of shopping. Park van next to entrance to stairs and lifts with business cards under wiper. May as well give a go at Touting for business while shopping

I've seen business cars holders you clip onto the window trims, you could try one of those!

For all you motorcyclists. When ebay beckons and that rusty wreck is bought in a haze of drink, my motorbike loader trailer is now back in action.

Brakes are...... Different! Nothing nothing nothing skid!

Brakes didn't work on the one I used to drive either, I think it's a feature.

Nothing to do with the usual French lhd to rhd conversions? Eg breaking on a 206 from the passenger side

Roof rack achieved. Home made brackets and generic roof bars off a friend's back garden. Single bed frame will be painted strengthened if required and fitted when I can find one.

Well boys and girls the clutch decided to slip coming out of Derby this afternoon. Managed to limp it home but it's very poorly. Sadly no motor factors are open today that have a clutch kit in for less than a ton and I'm at work tomorrow so effectively up creek without a Paddle. Going to start removing what I can so new clutch can go in. Is any local ish Shiters available to assist tomorrow? No cash but have tea and bacon!

PM me your address - I'll see what I can do.  Very little mechanical, obvs... ;-)

I finish work at 1,3 mile back home so probably home for two ish as I'll be walking back mate. I'll drop you a pm. It'll just be a bit of lifting, pushing!

Well after two hours in the cold it still looks the bloody same. Can't reach nuts, can't work out how to remove OS drive shaft.

OS driveshaft is held in an intermediate bearing thing built into the rear engine mount.

Have a look on the NS of the bearing/mount thing and there are either one or two bolts with little hooks holding the bearing in place, you need to undo these and wangle the bearing out of this mount thing.

Posted

I seen the bit you mean. I thought it was just a support. If I remove that the driveshaft will come away? There is 3 bolts round the os driveshaft going into box that wasn't on other side.

Posted

You need to slacken the two 11 mm nuts on the driveshaft centre bearing until they are only a nuts width on the end of the bolt . The bolt has a hockey stick shaped end and will now push back and rotate out of the way of the bearing allowing the driveshaft to just tap out .

Easy being a mechanic Isn't it ?

Yeh don't undo the three on the drivers side of the gearbox where driveshaft goes in
