I'm not coming but did see a few of the exhibits heading the other way on the A14. My favorite was a hero trailering a Marcos behind a mk1 Rover 800 fastback.

Not from the NEC. We've still got a day to go yet!

Good to meet you again Gareth. You have now met Nigel Wild. Well done for surviving and sorry I couldn't arrange an earlier escape!

Sorry, it was heading towards the NEC on Thursday. I've done about 1800 miles this week visiting remote mobile phone towers for a client and I keep expecting to meet myself travelling the opposite way.

Nice to chat again Gareth, I hunted down that Rancho on your recommendation and had a nice chat with the owner. It's needed a complete A pillar replacement on the drivers side (if it was rhd) a few years ago and has had other stuff done in the past. I mentioned the Rancho love on here and that we had bronze and silver ones recently purchased. He was intrigued...

Found the Lobster stall but couldn't spot Mr lobster, sorry I missed you. Otherwise a busy but fun day. Will sort photos when I get home.

Is over.

I know. And judging from the sheer volume of related Tweets out there, it was quite a good one.

I was there. Apart from a brief "Hi" with Ian DW I was more focused on not losing track of my mate and his habit of wandering off.

Usual NEC. Lots to see, some new, some seen before.

Lots of cars for sale this year, not a bargain to be had though.

Overpriced crap food and expensive parking a mile away but you know that before you buy a ticket.

On DWs recommendation I discovered the Matra coupe with a Ford V4 in the back that I never knew existed.

Maybe not next year, but I will be back.

Yes, was he part of the entertainment, some kind of performance art?  A bit like the BMW stand having some bloke in a massive puffa jacket, a baseball hat that even East 17 would shun and some weird estuary accent saying "innit" all the time.

He told us about that one too! It was rather interesting.

DW also let me sit in a race prepped 2CV, although I'm quite small so fitted ok. Then he let 17-Coffees have a try (who's over 6ft tall) and that was amusing. :D
