Welcome to Strictly Come Chodbothering from the glamorous 'Shed of Shame' at Cannock auctions.  With Julian Sloth jet-setting around Europe, we revived an old game format from a couple of years ago, the criteria being:

1. Shopping Trolley: must have an engine capacity of 1200cc or less

2. End-of-Life Vehicle: any 5-door estate or MPV that embodies the joy of multiple offspring

3. Orphan: something with an unusual spec, like a Jag with cloth seats or a 2.0 petrol Focus

4. Trophy: must be a proper coupe or convertible - no hot hatches or barried 1.2 Clios

5. Motorway Mile Muncher: must have an engine capacity of more than 2400cc

6. Ready for Work: any van, pickup, recovery vehicle or full-size 4x4

7. On the Rank by Tonight: find some obvious (or not so obvious...) minicab material.

The judges' scores are in.

1st place & ultimate cheapskate was Outlaw 118 (ably assisted by Blind Trevor) with a total bill (less commission and indemnities) of £2270, very much helped by a Ford Puma which was hammered away for just eighty quid.

Bub2006 scored a strong second place with £2405.  Four of Daz's choices were products of the same South Korean manufacturer - can you guess which? (Clue: it doesn't begin with H...)

Only fifty quid behind in 3rd was Antony G, whose mile-muncher was a £450 3.0 S-type.  Likes his Jags, does our Tone.

Junkman claimed fourth spot on £2540.  His shopping trolley was a 2003 Ka with less than 13000 miles for £100.

320touring and cms206 battled for 5th place, with Andy beating Neil to the spot by just a fiver with £2575.  The lofty one's Almera Tino EOLV was outstanding at £170 with nine months remaining on the ticket, while the Hairy Man of Blantyre put a local part-ex 2001 Vectra on the rank for £160.  Who cares that the instruments were AWOL?

Mr Conelrad was performing well until his choice of van - a Fiat Doblo - went across the block at £750, giving him 7th place and a total of £2850.

Rml2345's 'orphan' Previa was a Billy Bargain at 450 sheets, but a couple of expensive decisions elsewhere took Adrian's total to £3420.

Mr Fowler had a no-sale on his taxi selection after an optimistically-reserved Corolla Verso with a faulty auto box was bid as far as £950 before being withdrawn.  Taking an average of the prices realised in the category by the other players then adding the usual £200 penalty gave David a score here of £750, taking his total to £3725.

Remember - KEEEEEEEEEEEEP BIDDING!!

Did that Corolla really go as high as 950 before being lobbed out? I didn't think it got any bids.

Sure did.  I'm pretty sure most of them came from the waste bin and some bloke's hat.

Sorry, for not being there, was in Germany.

I did have the pleasure of seeing 140 on the speedo in the Skoda, more to go but not enough clear Autobahn.

I diidn't come last! Much unexpected especially since someone spent £680 or something on a bloody Picanto and ruined my chances slightly.

Junkman's P6 was lovely too.

The RAF museum at Cosford is definitley worth a visit as well if you're interested in aircraft as well. And this;

Still feeling a bit tender, I left the Scotoshite MASSIV and trundled up the road more sedately with a bit of a nap here;

Many thanks to Chaeraser for organizing us and to everyone else, it was a smashing day out.

WAHEY!!! I R WINNAR!!!123!!!   Thought I'd blown it when that lpg Previa went for £200 over my "budget", but that Puma saved the day. But, as my compadre Blind Trev said...."Even I can see the rot on that, and I can barely see my own fucking feet"

Left in sunshine, back to Essex to rain.

205 miles covered, beat the satnav by 24 minutes on the way up, and about the same behind on the way back. Averaged for the round trip 42mph, and 43.8 mpg.

Highlights? (Apart from the general laffs and BANTZ M8) Saab 9.-3 on 07 plate for about £800, and that 58 plate Golf that was in the process of dying and smoked more than a beagle. Oh, and Lord Stirling getting told off - it was a Meriva btw.....  :-D

Has to be said that the general quality was better than before, there were a few lots that hit £2k+.... and what was that Merc Goppingmobile even doing there?

Cheers to Mr C Racer for his organisational skillz, good to see Scotland too.

I'm going to stare at my photo of Junkman's P6 now, and wonder how my life went so wrong.....

Because BCA in Walsall are probably still laughing!  Still, five bags and a monkey must be the current record in the Shed of Disappointment.

** Lot 93 was a black 2007 R320 Sport CDi auto, showing 130k and 8 months' ticket.

250 or some such. Pissed me right off that, since the absolutely hanging Pickarso I chose for that category was blasted to a mindboggling 375.

Glad i went home then. Diesel sedona auto for 250 made an ideal acomplice for the carens
