New Shite TVR Wedge

You should nip over to the TVR cafe at the old factory in Bristol Ave for a bacon sarnie.

I popped over to the site a few weeks ago and it was a flattened pile of bricks. Missed it by 2 weeks, was gutted.

Yeah, great well done.

Can I have your MG Maestro now?

I have considered selling it but it needs plenty of work doing to it, I have all the bits it needs just not sure if I should sell it or find someone to do the bodywork

I suggest find someone to do the bodywork then sell it to me!

Is it the rear arches and tailgate that needed doing from when you got it or is there more?

Ps sorry for thread hijack, I genuinely do think that low slung roadster of desire looks magnificent. Pop up headlights are the road illumination choice of winners.

That's got to be some kind of autoshite heroism, buying a V8 TVR off eBay, unseen. Good effort. Am I right in thinking that even if it does go wrong it can't be too hard to fix?

I think if they are fitted with cheap aftermarket wheels they can look a bit kit car. The prices of all TVRs are rising with the re-launch generating a lot of interest.

In the last year two Tasmins have come up for sale, I considered one but soon thought the better off it, imagine the shame every time you pop the bonnet and a pinto is sitting in the bay.

I always fancied building one of those Cobra replicas with a Pinto engine - I mean how much power do you really need?

It needs the front arches as well plus sills as they have been patched up, I may have found someone to do the work just need to save up to get it done.

Well bought indeed; and I'd agree prices are set to go up. Closest I've come was a Lotus Excel, a tad modern and a bit flash for me ;) I hope that it continues to be as good as it looks. Fuel inj too! What sort of set up did they have? Powah?

Thanks for the kind words. They use a SD1 Vitesse 3.5 with tubular manifold and make 197bhp, so its lively.

I thought only the twin plenums made 197 and the cooking vitesse was more like 170? Not that it matters all that torque should make these loads of fun.

Well that's a bit different! As it happens, there was a buyer's guide to the TVR wedges in Practical Classics a few months back. Although you've bought it now, so maybe not that interesting to you...

Wow, these all of a sudden look great! More of an understated sports car than the balls-out "look at me" later stuff. Top purchasing, hope it's as solid as it looks.

my brother bought one of these back in the day,it was 2 years old,he stupidly let me drive it,many times i ended up facing where i just came from,it was scary noisey tailhappy and awsome, best of all i was only 17 so hadnt a clue how to drive, but soon learned,it was great roaring through the village at 2am.

good purchase that.im off now to check the reg to see if it still exists

well thats odd.put the reg in europarts and it shows up,on dvla no trace.

is there a way to find out when it was scrapped or whatever?

Many years ago when I sold IT for a living TVR were one of my prestige clients. Doing a site visit there was always a red letter day.
