So after 4 days and 2,200 miles I've finally made it to Autoshite International HQ. For those of you with Faceache I've put a blog on there 'BryantBulgarianAdventure'. I'll upload a proper thread on here once we have Internet as mobile data is costing me a fortune. Here are some pictures to be going on with b063f214645f318468429ac817751335.jpg5778eb63e3323f8c5d421269a9381c08.jpgabf7fafa10fcf45d75882bcbdc426881.jpg2a0abf399b9e2fe4fa3f4fb046b691c1.jpg

The green gates open onto the road and could fit 4 cars under there, through the wooden doors at the end is room for another 2 :-D

Nice!

We're looking to be moving at the end of September/early November

Which way did you go? Serbia or Romania?

Posted

We did Romania although the main motorway isn't finished yet so had to do about 180km on rural back roads and mountains.

Did you know you can get 8 cars on a transporter and it costs a thousand euros each to deliver to the uk from Bulgaria,

It will be a holiday home for a few years but eventually permanent

I've already got my eye on a dusty old Lada that a neighbour reckons I could get for 100 Lev (about £44) :-D

We've had a list of items our seller is taking with her

Apart from her personal clothes and stuff,a dining room suite and a writing cabinet,it seems we get the rest......

Yeah that's common practice. The sellers usually just remove personal effects. Our had all the furniture in.

Cleared a couple of trees that were blocking the barn doors in preparation for the imminent arrival of the Granada 7278b7e7b47bdc192d8a78d1ec509a53.jpg7c8410107bba281035e8c9a243756678.jpg

Still got a few to go down the length of the barn though 66d52b14b58cda236691e81740063d09.jpg

Good on you, I wish I was brave enough to do something like this

Plenty of room in the garden for tents. Mrs Seal said she's ok with it. I've got no problem hosting SF17 :-D

Currently in Vivacom on the boulevard sorting Internet for £6 a month - BT are robbing me in Shetland of £50 a month :-D

Small world! You go to the other side of Europe and get spotted by a fellow member of a very slightly niche web forum.

Do you have a white Transit? What happened to the maroon bus?

Posted

Yes we do have a white Transit (currently with a maniacal Mrs Seal behind the wheel). I bought the Merc without checking the GVW and what Mrs Seal could drive. The guy who does tests in Shetland couldn't fit her in for months so unless I bought something else we wouldn't have been able to get here.

Whereabouts are you Bucketeer? You can be the first shiter to visit, it'd be rude not to meet you after coming all this way :-D

I love the idea and it would make a fantastic road trip but it's a 4000 mile round trip which would cost a bit of fuel and need some logisitical planning. I haven't looked at the route but I would guess, France, Germany, Austria, then it gets a bit woolly, Slovenia next? Then Croatia and either Bosnia or Serbia and then into Bulgaria. If it's the East then it might be Romania instead of Serbia perhaps? Quite a trip.

I'd have to clear the access at the far gate but yes there would be room for a caravan Bub
